It is a shame about the lack of backwards compatibility but I am sure it can't be helped. Is there a way of switching between V1 and V2 syntax within the script so that we could keep our V1 script and tell V2 to use V1 syntax, or for V2 to turn itself off and run V1!? Thank you for this. My file was UTF8 encoded but
the lack of BOM makes all the difference.
csv files downloaded from Google sheets also lack the BOM and
are garbled in Excel.
I am also enjoying the COT functionality recommended to me here recently. Thanks again.

I think I will go for the final option. I had no idea of the hotstring (COT) functionality. That is just what I wanted.

I am thinking of using AutoHotkey for making English language corrections by writing scripts for a variety of does and don'ts. I want to turn off Japanese input IME software before my autohotkey command and then turn it back on again so I added Send {vkF3} Script.... Send {vkF4} And I think that works, thank you.
