Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Oh! I've been waiting for this kind of thing for a while now!
So, does this require the script to be compiled via command line? Or can the executables work through the compiler nonetheless?

Re: Breaking a loop... in the wrong place?

The break command is not necessary for Loops, it's only if you want to break said loop and continue on with your code as shown here: Loop, 10 { X := SomeCodePassedToX() If (X == 10) Break ; Breaks the loop and continues on after the loop if X is 10 Else Continue ; Otherwise, continue until it does }...

Just for a bit of clarification on my end, what use does this have versus FileInstall?

Re: Mac-Like Hot Corners For Windows 10 To Change Volume And Brightness

Explaining to someone that you will need to install something else is not a good habit. Yes a hand full of other programs do it but most of those habits have died out and they just made it to download the needed files for usage. As for the screen size, saying that the user would need to adjust their...

Re: Mac-Like Hot Corners For Windows 10 To Change Volume And Brightness

Ok, one very big tip I can give you for scripting, is expect the user to NOT have certain things on their computer. For example: In your script, you have the max screen size be around 1915, a lot of users do not have that size of a monitor. You also have it where nircmd.exe is in your A drive, not e...

Shift and 6 pastes the carret character. There's no need for this.

Re: OnExit Func Inside a Class Topic is solved

Nevermind, I need to read the Docs more often.
AHK Docs wrote:

Code: Select all

; Register an object to be called on exit:
OnExit(ObjBindMethod(MyObject, "Exiting"))

class MyObject
{
	Exiting()
	{
		MsgBox, MyObject is cleaning up prior to exiting...
		/*
		this.SayGoodbye()
		this.CloseNetworkConnections()
		*/
	}
}

OnExit Func Inside a Class Topic is solved

With the "new" OnExit func, I want to be able to exit the script and have the OnExit function to be a function that's inside a class (Without using __Delete). For example: Class StartupClass { __New() { OnExit() ; What goes in here? } } Class ExitClass { OnExitFunction() { MsgBox, Closing down! } }

Re: LibCon - AutoHotkey Library For Console Support

I know this is quite the old topic, but would anyone here know how I can continue to use an ActiveX control without it freezing/crashing because of a "read input" command causing the whole script to freeze?

I saw the image you posted and was going to say that I really like the style of your GUI (don't love the colour though), then I saw your comment lol.

Is there a way to close the script without having to use the tray menu? If I try to close the window it'll just pop back up again. I suggest looking into this: GuiClose

This has more to do with what the user specifies in the Edit box at the bottom of the dialog. You can check if the user specifies a file extension by using SplitPath.

Re: Escaping quotes and hash character

AHK tends to have a bit of a lazy day when it comes to using escape characters, and double quotes are no exception. To put it simply, double quotes, turn into quadruple quotes. It's weird, makes no sense, and annoys me to high hell, but I got used to it by having my editor highlight certain escape c...

If you wouldn't mind hosting the screenshot to a new website, such as Imgur for a better resolution.

As for the syntax error, this is the demo for syntax highlighting in SciTE2AHK. This would, of course, provide an understanding to the user for what they can tell the differences between.
