Re: Python-like Error System

for those of us who are not familiar with python, what new features / usability does this provide that normal ahk doesn't? I guess I didn't think about that, that's my bad ^^; The main difference between AHK's errors and Python's errors are the ways you can debug them and understand where your scri...

Python-like Error System

What is this? This is a simple and easy to follow Error System for AutoHotkey. Why should I use this? I already use <x>. This is to help debug where your code went wrong and how to fix it. It works pretty much exactly how Python does their Error System. Why not just throw an Exception? Throwing an ...

Re: Using AHK for large scale software development

Give me a few days and I can port an error system that's somewhat similar to python. I use it everyday when creating script sand it works extensively well. Just have to extract it from my own libraries and not have it hard coded lol

Re: Allow built-in variables as default function parameters

Technically you can do this already but it's very bad practice and only works for a handful of variables (that I can be bothered to try): my_func(file_name = "%A_ScriptName%") { return A_ScriptDir . "\" . file_name . ".ahk" } MsgBox, % my_func() ; Use default parameter. MsgBox, % my_func("my_script"...

Re: LoadFile - Load script file as a separate process

Is there a possible way to dynamically call a script's method? I've tried using Func and ObjBindMethod and neither seem to work. Edit: Nevermind, I made a mistake and added too many parameters to the function call when the function itself doesn't allow for that many parameters. ObjBindMethod worked ...

Re: Hot Corners For Windows 10

Despite being an old script, I could quickly modify it to look and work better as well as adding better customization. Edit: Here it is: ; Example START #NoEnv #SingleInstance, Force #MaxThreadsPerHotkey, 1 #KeyHistory, 0 #Persistent ListLines, Off SetBatchLines -1 Corners := [] Corners.Push(New Hot...

Ah, perfect timing! I was working on a quick OSD program and needed to find the taskbar's edge. This'll be quite interesting to work with!

Text Set to Bottom of Control

What I'm wanting is to be able to position the text to the bottom of the control. I do know that you can do this with buttons using BS_BOTTOM := 0x800 but that's only for buttons.
My question is, is there a way to do the same but for a Text control?

Re: sublime text syntax auto completion

Well, you could: In the auto completions file ( AutoHotkey.sublime-completions ) in the AutoHotkey package, you can add your own auto completions. However you could modify the #IfWinActive line to be: {"trigger": "#IfWinActive", "contents": "#IfWinActive${1:, [ WinTitle}, ${2:WinText]}$0"}, . So whe...

Re: More Flexibility with #Requires

I do agree on the points you made, and I want to kind of clarify that some of my ideas were more or less just rambling about a new feature and having ideas just spitting out of my mouth. As a side note I generally try to come up with ideas and see what others think about them. Yes, I do see the flaw...

More Flexibility with #Requires

As of AHK 1.1.33, the #Requires directive was added, allowing users to require others for a certain version (or higher) of AHK to be ran with the script. I see very little use with this directive with it only being used to check for the ran version of AHK. My "wish" is to allow more options for the ...

[Class] Java Properties Styled Data Management

To be honest, Java's Properties is actually quite simplistic, easy to follow, and very minimalistic. I'd actually recommend it if you're not wanting to use something like JSON or XML to store data. If you've ever used INI to store data (which is built into AHK), then you'll know the basics of using ...

Re: Examples of Non-Standard GUIs (ActiveX, GDI, etc.)

I made a quick file explorer to help me with finding, executing, and managing my files without doing much of anything. As of right now it's a prototype and needs to be cleaned up a bit. I'll send the source code as well as a full, compiled download ready for use later this month (kinda lazy at the m...

Re: DllCall w/o function name Topic is solved

I'm not fully knowledgeable when it comes to programming so bare with me here.
When it comes to calling a function, you can either call by using the function's name, or it's "ID". Some functions allow their name while others use their ID's.

If I'm wrong, sue me.

Re: SetSystemTime() : Updates system time with time returned from a Time Server

Do you work with any other languages and you know a handful of functions? Or do you just find some functions from a list or something and decide to create a function or script based off of it? lol Also, couldn't you use a UrlDownloadToVar-like scriptlet instead of downloading a file to the disk itse...
