onscreen keyboard display?

Hi,

Is there an AutoHotkey script that would display a miniature computer keyboard (plus function keys) and show what keys I press?

Thank you!

Re: Get window to track mouse cursor Topic is solved

Wow, thank you! This is seriously awesome.

I didn't expect that it would need to be so sophisticated, but this works perfectly.

Thank you so much!

Get window to track mouse cursor Topic is solved

I'm trying to build a script for someone with a neurological disorder, and I find myself struggling with this one. I have a small window that I need to track the mouse. I want to be able to disable and re-enable the tracking at will. My plan is that I place the mouse over the window and press a hotk...

Re: What is the menu key on the right?

That's because I was looking under 'Modifier' keys where all the adjacent keys are listed, rather than under 'special' keys.

Thanks for the info.

What is the menu key on the right?

My MS keyboard has 3 keys directly to the right of the spacebar: <Alt><Menu><Ctrl> In this list of modifier and control keys https://autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm , I see right control and alt keys, and even a right windows key, but it doesn't seem to work for my menu key. What is the correct synt...

Re: Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

Ah, yes. GroupAdd. I had seen that command but didn't know what it was and didn't have time to investigate. Now that I know, I can see how it's very useful.

Thanks for sharing that!

Re: Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

Yes, it's confusing to me too. I have admin privileges, but don't act as admin or superuser. I simplified a little and added the ability to use the same functionality in file dialog popups, and the following seems to work well in everything I've tested so far. #IfWinActive, ahk_class #32770 ~WheelDo...

Re: Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

The first script doesn't work at all for me, for some reason. Nothing scrolls in either pane, regardless of what's selected. Not sure what's going on there or what the difference is between our systems. The second script, however, works great! Yes, it deselects the pane and file selection, but overa...

WinActivate not activating by PID

I wrote a simple script that's supposed to let me mark the active window and jump back to it regardless of what other window is currently active. #NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases. #SingleInstance,Force ;#NoTrayIcon SendMode Input ; Recommended fo...

Re: Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

Thank you again. Yes, I was getting the same class names as you. In my case, though, it was the opposite of the selected pane that scrolled when the mouse hovered over it. I understand your reluctance to change focus, I was reluctant too, but considered it a viable alternative. I'm aware of the Cont...

Re: Second Edit Pane for SciTE4AutoHotkey

Wondering what the latest is on this project. I grabbed the code from the first post, but the comments look good too and I was wondering if there is a GitHub repo or some other place to grab the latest code?

Re: Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

Wow, thanks for doing this! The behavior isn't quite what I was hoping for. Right now it just scrolls in the opposite pane of the selected pane (I'm on Win 7 too), but won't scroll in the pane under the mouse. I think this might be an alternative way of achieving that: 1) On wheel up or down, store ...

Windows Explorer folder positions and scrolling

While I've played around with AutoHotkey for a few weeks, there's lots I don't know how to do. However, two things continuously bother me about Windows Explorer that I really want to change: 1) The scrollbar scrolls the currently selected portion of the window (tree view or content view) rather than...

Re: Stdlib equivalent Sorting & Searching

Hi illuzioner, yes, Instr and RegExMatch operate on strings. Regarding automatic expansion, I refer to the capacity of the array, see SetCapacity . I see. By "automatic expansion" you mean automatic resizing of arrays. Regarding InStr, I think the OP was asking about searching arrays of strings rat...

Re: Stdlib equivalent Sorting & Searching

A search routine for arrays would be helpful for me too.

@Helgef

Aren't InStr and RegExMatch only for strings and not arrays or even string arrays?

What do you mean by "Ahk arrays are automatically expanded"?

Add Run as Admin

Often times I need to run a script as admin. I have to do this manually since none of the options I've come across are viable. Of course security is a big concern, so a password or some sort of security to prevent hacking is necessary, but it would help in a number of important cases to have that au...

This is fantastic, thank you both! For some reason I wasn't searching for a menu but a listbox. Context is everything.

Thanks again!

Is there a GUI element like this?

When I get a popup context menu in Windows Explorer, it's a simple, thin border, menuless graphic element similar to a listbox, but cleaner. simpleListView.jpg I want this to be a floating window, like a context menu. I don't think I need the right arrow submenus, but I do need to make the box prett...
