script to open up "save as" dialog in any program?

ctrl s opens "save as" dialog in many of the programs in Windows, but some are not.

I want to make script that Ctrl + S will open the save as dialog for my screenshot program(it does not have built in hotkeys and I want to have it)

thanks in advance.

Re: press and hold mouseclick to repeat keystroke

Thank you again for the help.

Everything's ok except one missing feature. I want to keep the sleep 35 but wanna add initial repeat delay (say 300ms, so I can still send single k while repeat rate is as fast as 35ms)

press and hold mouseclick to repeat keystroke

I want to make script that pressing and holding alt + left mouse button would keep sending keystroke(for instance "t") depending on how long I hold it, just like normal keyboard typing but script like !lbutton::send k wouldn't work because I must unpress lbutton and press again to send another k. wh...

Re: Is it safe to use vkFF instead of capslock?

@Xtra thank you for the reference. I looked into it and wonder if I can use any random key code I can think of ( for instance, vkaa, vkbb, vk44 ..etc) @Rohwedder thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I can't test if it resolves my problem atm because I need to wait a day or two for it to occur...

Re: hotkey to open tray icon context menu and click an option

that's why sometimes I feel so frustrated when there's something I want done using autohotkey which is far above its power lol. and even after reading the official manual, there's many I can't understand how to actually apply them, giving it a life. you helped me and other people a lot already and I...

Re: hotkey to open tray icon context menu and click an option

thank you for the advice. since tray bar occupies very limited areas of the screen, it seems to be best solution for now, almost instantly finding the matching icon. I wished there'd be more sophisticated alternative that's better than old school method. I also wish I have an expertise to reverse-en...

Set keypress' first repeat delay differently

capslock & r:: while GetKeyState("r", "P") { send {wheeldown} Sleep, 50 ; adjust as desired } return By adjusting sleep time, I can set how fast this hotkey would wheeldown while pressed down. But I want to set the first repeat delay a bit longer than when it's already repeating "r" so if you press...

hotkey to open tray icon context menu and click an option

I have a program that doesn't have main window, but just stay in the tray when run.(it has settings dialog though)

it has ahk_exe name, but doesn't have shortcut for any of the task it does.

in this case, can I bind hotkey to right click on tray icon, and when context menu appears, click one of it?

!up::soundset +2 !down::soundset -2 !z::send {volume_mute} I have very strange delay when using this extremely simple script whenever I press one of those hotkeys multiple times , the first press has meaningful delay so for example I press alt + up 3 times , the volume changes only once ( +2%), not...

Re: Please help complete this script(confining mouse to a window)

@A_AhkUser I appreciate your detailed explanation. I removed all returns after single line hotkey and it improved the readability to a degree which is a plus. Been testing removing critical which apparently did nothing so far, might refer to some articles about auto execute section. but I would keep...

@lexikos Thank you so much for your correction, now it's gone :) But new warning emerges.. this time from different part of the script. #warn IME_CHECK(WinTitle) { WinGet,hWnd,ID,%WinTitle% Return Send_ImeControl(ImmGetDefaultIMEWnd(hWnd),0x005,"") } Send_ImeControl(DefaultIMEWnd, wParam, lParam) { ...

Re: Please help complete this script(confining mouse to a window)

@A_AhkUser

Oh, I tested my original script with #warn on top, and it really shows error dialog..never realized because all my hotkey worked well. So does having unreachable code in the script, although fully working, cause problem that I am not aware of?

Re: Please help complete this script(confining mouse to a window)

@A_AhkUser Disabling warnings does not solve anything actually. it just stops showing error code, while the script malfunctions or not function at all as far as errors are not revised. I removed all return for single line hotkey to see what happens, doesn't do a thing. and I can't remove setstorecap...
