alt + right click for mouse wheeldown?

trying to make script that works..

!rbutton:: send {wheeldown}

this works for one wheeldown for one each click

but I want to add the functionality where click and hold will keep wheel the scroll down depending on how long I press it (as !keypress does)

Re: Disable input of selective key in special condition

Did you try the one that I provided? If you just change the hotkey name, it might work for you. capslock & a:: SetTimer, Wait, -350 Send {wheeldown} Return Wait: If GetKeyState("a") { BlockInput, On Sleep, 1000 BlockInput, Off } SendEvent {capslock up} Return [Mod edit:

tags added.] s...

Disable input of selective key in special condition

capslock & a:: send {wheelup} I wonder if I can disable input of a key temporarily if the last pressed key is capslock key. I ask this because while making use of hotkey, more often than not I up capslock key first and as a result send literal {a} many many times. to clarify, I want to achive 3 thin...

Re: key accidentally released while pressing hotkey, how to prevent this?

thank you for the reply.

I think both ideas are great but stupid me, I don't have clue how to write the proper script to play with values and such.

would you mind offering test script so it's easier to understand how it goes?

couldn't be happier!

key accidentally released while pressing hotkey, how to prevent this?

this is my example code. capslock & a:: send {wheeldown} and I used this for weeks now. everything works fine and I am happy it replaces 30 percent of my mouse usage. but here's where the problem starts. I use it quite frequently that sometimes I unexpectedly cause the hotkey to cease while in the m...

Re: Can I mouse scroll in inscrollablle area?

Yes. You can change this so that you run a timer that checks to see if the key is being held down. You issue the clicks until the key is released. At that point, you move the mouse to its original position. https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/GetKeyState.htm I read up the tutorial, but I still...

Re: Can I move my cursor in this manner?

I really should. autohotkey has one of the best program manual I've ever seen and I would start with beginner's tutorial though I've been using this script language for year long. I appreciate so much once again. :!:

min+100 did its job btw :)

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

I will say this, though. You said: if I decrease the tap value below 0.1sec(100ms) not to omit anything, I should be extra careful to release each k within 100(it would be stressful to always care about it) not to repeat command to be sent by accident. If you're holding a key down, then you're hold...

Re: Can I move my cursor in this manner?

Perfect!

Does it make sense if I use %min%+100 or %max%-100? I tested that already but it makes no changes.

Re: Can I move my cursor in this manner?

Sure, just change that line. If you want to add 1 to your y-position, then the second parameter would be ypos+1 . If you want your x-position to stay constant, then the first parameter would be xpos . omg, never thought it was that simple. :lol: so the code should be something like this! capslock &...

Can I move my cursor in this manner?

I want to improve my script(or change completely if I should) this way: if my current mouse position is: y that is less than 151(44, 78, 148 whatever), move it to y151 and x value shouldn't change at all wherever it is. for example: x55, y40 --> x55, y151 x140, y150 --> x140, y151 x10, y160 --> x10,...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

As I said above - there might be a way to improve it using SetTimer instead of sleeping so much. I'll keep thinking about it and if I get something I think works better I'll post it, unless someone beats me to it. That's so nice of you. I would ask around but autohotkey is not so popular in my coun...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

Ok - it's getting a bit complex now, but try this: CapsLock & k:: Send, {WheelDown 1} Sleep 150 ; Wait, then check if key was just "tapped" If !(GetKeyState("k", "P")) Return ; quit if it was just a "tap" ;ok - key was held - let's wait to see if held long enough to repeat Sleep, 650 ; initial dela...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

I understand what you are saying - there might be a way to achieve that with SetTimer, but I'll have to give it a little thought, and I need to go out for a little while. I already appreciate what you've done for me with your time and effort. I will try to figure out the rest but I would appreciate...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

two factor into consideration: 1. you should be able to have time to press and release hotkey before the repeat delay is reached. (for one notch of scroll to work) 2. sleep should be short enough to guarantee the butter smooth consecutive scrolling. (when navigating through long articles that requi...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

The "P" parameter to GetKeyState just means "is pressed". You can't adjust anything with that. You can increase the Sleep, 50 - that will increase the time before the keystate is checked again and another wheeldown is sent. (slower "repeat rate" if you like) You can increase the {WheelDown 1} to {W...

Re: faster keystroke repeat delay?

Something like CapsLock & k:: While GetKeyState("k", "P") { Send, {WheelDown 1} Sleep, 50 } Return CapsLock & i:: While GetKeyState("i", "P") { Send, {WheelUp 1} Sleep, 50 } Return Shouldn't have that initial repeat delay - but, because it's kinda "bypassing" the OS repeat settings you'd probably n...

faster keystroke repeat delay?

Have a look at this code: capslock & k::send {wheeldown} return Can't be simpler. It is just replacement for wheeldown by using keyboard. So when I hold this hotkey, it keeps scrolling until I release the k. Quite convenient. And I decided to further upgrade this for much better browsing experience....

Can I mouse scroll in inscrollablle area?

like chrome, when browsing normally you can't turn your wheel up or down to scroll when the mouse cursor is located out of scrollable area(tab bar, bookmark bar on top or taskbar on the bottom) btw please have a look at my script. ^a:: mousegetpos, startx, starty mousemove, 500, 500, 0 sendinput {wh...
