Re: Intro to WebScraping and COM

Nice - should help make IE Com stuff way easy for beginners. Plus videos are good - & I felt way famous after watching ... ... a couple things... The "M" in COM & DOM stands for Model False=0 & 0!=-1 meaning -1=True I prefix raw pointers with "p" to signify it's a pointer (pwb, pdoc, etc.) - outside...

Note that a lack of understanding on my part around variants & memory was one reason I put this project on hold - and at this point it's unlikely I'll finish the library.

Re: Static class variables

... This seems to be the inevitable cost of clearness ... Also, the way I see it, This.Base.A or This.Base.Base.A are more descriptive related to the relationsship than a hard-coded class name. I'm not sure how much experience you have in OOP, or how far you plan to go, but I'd be curious to see if...

Re: Static class variables

The problem can occur anytime the user is trying to change an instance object and accidentally uses a key of a class object. This would immediately affect all running instances relying on the class object. So, you're accessing a key from the base which holds an object, and you want that object to h...

Re: Static class variables

The way I see it, instances should be able to overwrite keys/variables inherited by the base class for the instance only in either case, not only for non-object keys/variables. So, let's take Internet Explorer, for example. Say we have an object key , let's use the document object, that is defined ...

Re: Static class variables

... even though .Base. is not specified? Instance.B does not exist, so it accesses the base key, which holds reference to an object. Then, it accesses the [1] key & changes it to True. I think you are misunderstanding variables vs objects . A variable holds reference to an object ... it isn't an ob...

Re: Static class variables

Nope - if you provide a strait-forward question with a simplistic code example to demonstrate your point, I'd elaborate more. As a rule of thumb, though, objects don't get copied internally.

Re: Command syntax - "This parameter can be an expression"

however the discussion is whether or not the small subset of command arguments that can accept expressions WITHOUT using the % (to force expression mode) should remain or not Do we have a list of these? Visual examples of where it wouldn't be desirable to require a % for expressions could help clar...

Re: Streamline Tabbed activex window call

So, basically you want to dynamically access a global variable in a function? Well, the simplest answer is to just make your function global. However, if this is not desirable, you could utilize the Extremely most very often common source of confusion : WB1 := "www.ahkscript.org" WB2 := "www.autohot...

So, I was just provided this SQL today, though I'm not completely sure it's fool-proof: DELETE FROM <TABLE_NAME> WHERE rid(<TABLE_NAME>) <= (SELECT max(rid) FROM ( SELECT rid(<TABLE_NAME>) AS rid FROM <TABLE_NAME> ORDER BY rid(<TABLE_NAME>) FETCH FIRST <N> ROWS ONLY) i)

I should clarify that the mobile aspect is more for the regular forum users. Case in point, I am posting this from my phone. This is because I have notification sent to my phone - and when I get a notification, I'm typically not running to the computer to type a reply.

Re: Scripts stalling on popup windows while running IEGet()

IEGet (assuming it's the function I wrote) doesn't not work, unless your computer is not working. You may, however, be using it incorrectly ...

You may be better off creating the IE object via COM so that you already have the pointer ... at least until you understand how IEGet works.

Window Title Bar Menu Item

I might just be missing this, but is there a way to select a menu item from the Title Bar menu? For Notepad, the Restore,Move,Size,Minimize,Maximize,Close menu?

Specifically, I'm trying to use PuTTY with ConEmu & want to activate Full Screen.

Re: Scripts stalling on popup windows while running IEGet()

I'd say to either figure out what the webpage is doing under the hood to create the desired result you want, or just change the webpage so it'll allow you to do what you want. You may feel like a bit of a hacker afterward though ... btw ... I'm not even sure what an IEGet() routine is, but it doesn'...

This should be an equivalent example: #Persistent wdApp := ComObjCreate("Word.Application") wdApp.Visible := true ComObjConnect(wdApp, wd) return class wd { NewDocument(Args*) { Args[2].Selection.TypeText("Hello world") } Quit(Args*) { ComObjConnect(Args[1]) ; disconnect event notifications } }
