Re: Permanent Domain

It may be tomorrow, or it may be 5 years. Are we ready to support a scripting language that may not officially be released for 5 years? It has been in development at least 2 1/2 years. its been "in development" only by name. HotKeyIt already said that he's been using it for a year without any issue...

Re: Permanent Domain

I think people have forgotten that (then) AHK_L for a long time did not take off with general users. It took the genius of jethrow to create a thread allowing people to ask questions and get good explanations of the differences and the benefits of the two versions before things began to shift. eh, ...

but since its open source cant he simply copy any new work to his site? this really doesnt matter because we dont have any control over it. lets not forget that it took a decade to build that audience. it will take time again thogh not as much he cannot copy the work, and claim it is his but he can...

Re: Permanent Domain

That isn't the only way to reach existing users, but those users will also have no reason to care if our only pitch is to ask them to cross the Rubicon from what they're happy and familiar with. they will have no reason to care anyway even if both use 1.1 polys "autohotkey.com" which has the brand ...

Re: Permanent Domain

sticking with 1.1 still allows Poly to benefit just the same as if you fork to v2. poly keeps 'his' website where the majority of users will visit this new fork website will only have the hardcore users, at least until the new site starts ranking higher in google. and even then, there will be confus...

Re: How to make #IfWinActive match THE script's window(s)?

the hwnds of the Gui Windows are different from the ScriptHwnd. you haven't said whether you only want Gui windows or if you want the main script window as well

if you only want guis, you should try ahk_class AutoHotkeyGUI

Re: Name is important, Community is what makes it work

I still think that it is necessary to somehow negotiate with Poly. Yes, I know of his attitude, but it is still worth a shot (look at what happened with the AHK_B vs AHK_L conflict). Especially since he hasn't actually said anything online about his plans or why is he neglecting the forums/AutoHotk...

Re: Permanent Domain

ahk.org or autohotkey2.com i think i prefer the first, by why not grab both anyway in my opinion though, every effort should be made for a peaceful resolution with Poly. i realize the guy is a complete loser, but similar to fincs, i can't see how fragmenting the community is a good thing in any scen...
