Re: New Home page up

Somebody keeps putting back old copies of the homepage as the link to the changelog remains going to l.autohotkey.net etc - then its fixed to the changelog here on ahkscript but the next week its back to l.auto... I suggest you track down all the copies of the homepage you have floating around and t...

Re: Double-click on a Gui control modifies the clipboard

The other forum seems to be offline but I remembered this 'bug' report (so I copied it from Google cache): Lexikos wrote: This is a "feature" of the Static control (used for text and pictures) in Windows Vista and later. See Doubleclicking text being sent to clipboard - http://www.autohotkey.com/boa...

Limetext (ST clone) and Atoms by GH

Interesting text editors to keep an eye on:

1) Limetext: Experimental Sublime Text clone https://github.com/limetext/lime

2) Atom: GH is building a text editor - will be crossplatform (OSX only atm) and shareware https://atom.io/ - the previews on the blog do look nice

There is no need to use GH as there are several free clones you can install locally:
https://www.gitlab.com/
http://gitprep.org/
I'm sure there are others.

Re: build a wiki based on current help?

I don't think coping the entire documentation to the Wiki is a good idea as I doubt it will be kept up to date with the actual documentation maintained by Lexikos and others via GH. But that doesn't mean the Wiki or similar solution couldn't be used to improve the documentation. The Wiki could be us...

Suggestions on documentation improvements

I thought it would be nice to have a "Suggestions on documentation improvements" thread on AHKScript as well so here goes All very minor: 1) https://github.com/Lexikos/AutoHotkey_L-Docs/blob/master/index.htm#L20 The Forum link goes to http://www.auto-hotkey.com/boards/ suggest to change to ahkscript...

Re: New Home page up

@smorgasbord: just install the Stylish add-on and use one of the hundreds of phpbb styles you can find at http://www.userstyles.org (search for phpbb for a listing) :-) Edit: related you might like http://justgetflux.com/ "makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at ...

Re: A Github organisation for ahkscript

Interesting - I don't know how the repositories work with an GH organisation but perhaps the ahk book could be "moved" to this ahkscript group so it could be maintained by a group? If you don't know the book it can be found here https://github.com/maul-esel/ahkbook It could be a/the ahkscript wiki? ...

Re: Open a new forum for script collection?

From what I recall the old wiki had a script listing a mile or five long - so perhaps it is not the most efficient way to spend your time by categorizing all sorts of scripts & libraries. Tank : have you spoken to maul-esel? See https://github.com/maul-esel he is not only doing some work on some sor...

Re: Are variables in Menu possible ?

You could use a loop to create all the menus, makes it easy to extend as well. I focussed on that part of the script, no doubt other sections could be done "easier" as well. But it seems to work. ; Create and display the main window: Gui, +Resize ; Make the window resizable. Gui, Add, text, vMaintex...

Re: Guest posting

Thanks for allowing guest posts! I just noticed that for Guests bbcode is turned OFF, I don't know if that is done on purpose or if it is accidental. Code and/or Gist tags would be nice to avoid long sections of code. Ciao!

Re: [Library] Dlg2 v0.1 (Preview) - Common Dialogs

Win8.1/64bit - tried a quick test of both Example - Find and Replace.ahk and Example - General.ahk and it seems to work correctly, not extensively tested but clicked a few options for each test.

Re: Basics as to why AHKSCRIPT exists

Just keep it short and simply point to a few discussions threads on both forums for background info + explain there is an interest in setting up an AHK organisation to ensure continued support for a forum and possible other related websites (code repositories, user pages etc). If he can be reached a...

Re: AHK(v2) rebranding [Name Suggestions]

I don't like "AHS" very much, if you pronounce AHK you probably say "A-H-K" or AutoHotkey, for AHS it might sound too much like a person's buttocks, won't help with getting recognition as a serious solution: "What do you use? I use ass...." - Keep AHK or AutoHotkey as part of the name, so AHK+ AHK2 ...

Just look at some of the recent member profiles and you'll see duplicate and spammy links for certain websites and medication - no posts yet at this time.

Guest posting

I realise it is early days for this new forum, congrats btw, but I think one of the appeals of the old forum by Chris was that Guest posting was allowed (e.g. no need to create an account). It really makes it very easy for people to ask questions (yes I realize about spammers, trolling and extra wor...
