draw a translucent box on top?

I'm not great with autohotkey or programming and was hoping someone would be kind enough to help show me an easy way to draw a transparent box on my screen on top of all the windows but without being interactive(meaning all my clicks and scripts go right "through" it) ? I also need to be able to rem...

Re: mDesktop - Multiple Virtual Desktops

This looks VERY impressive so far! My only suggestion would be to add a way to send windows to other desktops just using the mouse. If you could that i think it'd be perfect! :)

Last few chars go missing when downloaded. Some forum quirk, I guess. I have appended a ; end eject.ahk at the end of the code.
Thanks for reporting this.
:)

Re: using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

Here's an easy example for a window moving: #Persistent OnExit, UnHook EVENT_OBJECT_LOCATIONCHANGE := "0x800B" WinGet, np_hwnd, ID, ahk_class Notepad pCallback := RegisterCallback("WinEventProc") Acc_SetWinEventHook(EVENT_OBJECT_LOCATIONCHANGE, EVENT_OBJECT_LOCATIONCHANGE, pCallBack) return UnHook:...

Re: using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

Globally hooking windows messages requires the callback function to be in a separate DLL, so that's not going to work with just Autohotkey. Besides that, somewhere on the -old- forums somebody did it and it wasn't fast. Luckily there are also Windows events you can register globally. Here's the lib...

Re: using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

I'm looking for something like this but that works for ALL windows not just the GUI one made: Gui, +Resize Gui, Show, w400 h300, Demo Window OnMessage(0x112, "WM_SYSCOMMAND") Return WM_SYSCOMMAND(wParam) { if (A_Gui = 1 && wParam = 0xF060) ; SC_CLOSE { MsgBox Nope. ; Optional ;) return 0 } }

Re: using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

Thank you fischgeek but i was hoping for a method that didn't involve polling as it is error prone and CPU intensive. :-/

Re: using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

What do you mean by "hook the combination of all these events"? Would WinGet, var, MinMax, WinTitle not do the trick for you? I'm sorry being unclear. I'm not looking to get the state of a window and whether or not it is minimized or maximized, i'm looking for a trigger to fire any time any window ...

using OnMessage to hook min/max windows?

Anyone have any tips on how I can hook these events as well? Regarding detecting maximizing windows, it has been posted by SKAN: Quote I can safely say HSHELL_GETMINRECT is very unpredictable in different OSes. ( If it works at all and ) If you are to use it only on your system, you are lucky. Other...

"Hotkey, <control>, off" not resetting control?

I'm trying to use the Hotkey command to turn off a hotkey i have assigned to "+WheelUp" in hopes of getting back the default Windows "+WheelUp" functionality ; however, what i find is that after the hotkey is turned "off" i don't get back my default control until i left click 1 time on the window th...

Re: [Function] WinGetPosEx v0.0.2 - Get the real size of win

jballi, with Drugwash's help i've made some changes to your v0.2 release that i think would make it better for xp users while still being functional for Vista++ . Here is my code, please consider adding this for v0.3. Note that the offset values take on a different meaning for XP users and basically...

Re: [Function] WinGetPosEx v0.0.2 - Get the real size of win

GetWindowRgnBox() retrieves the bounding rectangle of the visible part of a window, while GetWindowRect() retrieves the coordinates for the entire window. Since you have invisible parts of the window hidden through 'magic pink' (or any other method such as setting a custom window region), you shoul...

Re: [Function] WinGetPosEx v0.0.2 - Get the real size of win

I suppose it could go in place of GetWindowRect(), somewhere. I've just quickly glanced at the code, after posting the above, to make sure I didn't say something redundant, so can't pinpoint the exact location. But you could easily try it standalone; just get the window handle (such as hwnd := WinE...

Re: [Function] WinGetPosEx v0.0.2 - Get the real size of win

Having just read the comments without looking at the code, I was wondering if for Skrell's situation on XP a call to GetWindowRgnBox() might help in getting the correct width and height of a window. Top-left corner should be calculated separately though, since the API returns region coordinates rel...

Re: SysMeter v0.3

ok, so i think i found the problem. It definitely has something to do with fitting everyone on one line because i had the same problem after switching to the Arial font, but THEN when i used a font size of 8, everything looked perfect! Perhaps you can make the font size and/or total widget width an ...

no i didn't change anything. It almost looks like the MB of swap memory is too long text wise and this pushes down the label.
