Re: Quotation Marks and Variables

Hi webkin, What you're looking for is concatenation , documented here: https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/Variables.htm#concat The period (dot) is the concatenation operator. As the doc says, there are times when it can be omitted and times when it can't be, but I always prefer to include it for consis...

Great thread, lexikos...hadn't seen that one. Interesting that maestrith seems to have had the opposite problem from wolf..."a tooltip under x32 it will not display, but using x64 it will". Regards, Joe

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903) Topic is solved

I may decide to re-install Win 10 from CD, if I can find it. If you can't find it, the W10 ISO download (Media Creation Tool) works very well: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 That's the English/US link. Direct download is here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691...

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903) Topic is solved

I don't know what settings would affect that. I find it really strange that it works for you with U32 and not U64. Are you running it with the AHK source code or a compiled EXE? In any case, I suggest trying the source code script by explicitly running the 32-bit and 64-bit AHK...in other words, som...

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903) Topic is solved

Hi wolf, Sorry for the delayed response...was afk for a while. I use AHK U32 on all my systems, which is why my initial post had that. But I just tested U64 on the W10/v1903 system by running the U64 EXE explicitly, and it worked, too...got the same toast notification as with U32. So, I'm thinking t...

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903) Topic is solved

New question: is this worth reporting?
I think so. Sounds like a bug in AHK U64. Regards, Joe

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903) Topic is solved

Hi wolf,
Works fine here on W10 Pro 64-bit v1903 with AHK 1.1.30.03 U32, although it shows it as a toast notification (as the TrayTip doc says it may):

Re: Hide the AHK icon on InputBox dialogs

First, do this to remove the system tray icon: #NoTrayIcon Then this to put whatever icon you want on the InputBox : Menu,Tray,Icon,c:\temp\MyIcon.ico ; make this icon location whatever you want Obviously, that won't affect the tray icon, because there is no tray icon. :) But InputBox will use it as...

Re: Help with disabling error messages

Could I just throw my whole script in the try if it’s a small script? Although the Try block can have any number of statements in it, I prefer to have a separate Try-Catch pair for each possible exception so that I can display a unique error dialog for each one. If you decide to do this, note that ...

Re: Help with disabling error messages

I haven't read the script you posted, but a Try-Catch pair is the usual way to stop those error messages that reveal part of the script's actual code. The doc is very good on Try and Catch, but if you have any questions/issues after giving them a spin, post back here. Regards, Joe

Re: Old keyboard with media keys

how do I do it if I already have media keys that aren't doing anything? It depends on WHY they aren't doing anything. Possibilities are: (1) The keyboard may be broken, or those particular keys may be broken. In other words, it may be a hardware problem and there's nothing you can do about it. (2) ...

Re: Old keyboard with media keys

The doc for the multimedia keys is here:

https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm#multimedia

Here are some examples:

Code: Select all

Media_Play_Pause::Send !{PgUp}
Return

Media_Prev::Send !{PgDn}
Return

Launch_Mail::Send !{Left}
Return

Browser_Home::Send !{Right}
Return

You want this:

if (Value = Orderno)

Not this:

if (Value := Orderno)

Ah, well-done! Works perfectly in both W7 and W10. Btw, you're missing a closing brace on the AltTab function. Thanks much, Joe

Re: Send Alt+Tab behaves differently on W7 and W10

Hi GEV,
I tried it. Works perfectly in W7; does not work in W10. In W10, it takes the focus off the active window, but does not make the previous one active. Based on the taskbar display, it seems that no window is active. Regards, Joe

Re: Send Alt+Tab behaves differently on W7 and W10

Ran your script on my W7 system...didn't behave like an Alt+Tab...seemed to skew all windows in an angled, tiled fashion in the center of the screen...very strange. Also tried it on my W10 system...rearranged all windows into smaller, non-overlapping windows. Not as weird as W7, but definitely not a...

Send Alt+Tab behaves differently on W7 and W10

AHK 1.1.30.03 U32 Wrote a simple script to send Alt+Tab via F12: F12:: Send !{Tab} Return Works fine on W10 v1809 Pro 64-bit. Fails on W7 Pro SP1 64-bit. However, this works on W7: F12:: Send !{Tab} Sleep 50 Send !{Tab} Return Can someone explain what's going on? Yes, I could put in a test of A_OSVe...
