Re: Send Alt+Tab behaves differently on W7 and W10

Ran your script on my W7 system...didn't behave like an Alt+Tab...seemed to skew all windows in an angled, tiled fashion in the center of the screen...very strange. Also tried it on my W10 system...rearranged all windows into smaller, non-overlapping windows. Not as weird as W7, but definitely not a...

Send Alt+Tab behaves differently on W7 and W10

AHK 1.1.30.03 U32 Wrote a simple script to send Alt+Tab via F12: F12:: Send !{Tab} Return Works fine on W10 v1809 Pro 64-bit. Fails on W7 Pro SP1 64-bit. However, this works on W7: F12:: Send !{Tab} Sleep 50 Send !{Tab} Return Can someone explain what's going on? Yes, I could put in a test of A_OSVe...

Re: About moving a window to another screen

Yes, there are often many ways to solve the same issue. Personally, I much prefer programmatic approaches (such as COM/API/SDK calls or, in this case, WinMove) to sending keystrokes, but if you're happy with sending those keys, so be it. Regards, Joe

Re: About moving a window to another screen

If there a way can adjust windows size automatically. I haven't studied your code, but the answer to your question is that WinMove allows parameters to set the Width and Height. Here's the full syntax: WinMove,WinTitle,WinText,X,Y,Width,Height,ExcludeTitle,ExcludeText So, in addition to your newX a...

Re: Swap two words, make them CAPS

I don't know what you mean by "text field in a certain program". Does the "certain program" display a form with the names? Or is there an underlying file with the "text field" of each name? Do you want to just change the view on the screen or change the data that the "certain program" is using? Can ...

Where are the inverted names? In a text file? In a Word document? In an Excel spreadsheet? In folder/file names?

Re: Matching stuff in .Ini Topic is solved

Hi Hellbent,
Yes, I've stopped using the Quote Text BBCode because it was causing posting problems when the forum tightened the rules due to all the spam (I switched to a simple ">" character to signify a quote). Regards, Joe

Re: Matching stuff in .Ini Topic is solved

> how do i read only the keys and not the values on the section? You can't read only the Keys via an Ini command, but you can read the entire Section via IniRead , which will give you all the Keys. Then simply delete the equal sign and the Values, and you'll have only the Keys. Here's the IniRead sy...

Re: Urldownloadtofile issue

Hi DataLife, Adding my confirmation to that of wolf_II and gregster. Your posted script worked perfectly here on W7/64-bit and W10/64-bit, both with AHK 1.1.30.03 U32. So it would seem to have nothing to do with your script...must be something in the environment...and something that both computers h...

Hi Zivo, > it was to complicated Sorry to hear that. I used highly descriptive variable names and put in numerous comments in the hopes that folks could understand it. Also, I prefer clarity to brevity in my code, so it's pretty straightforward code, imo. > I couldn't figure out how it is related to...

Hi Zivo, I see that you joined our forum recently and that this is your first post, so let me say...Welcome Aboard! Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Hi TAC109,
There's one other field in Properties that I set in my NSIS installers that would be a nice addition to your compiler Directives: LegalTrademarks. Thanks, Joe

Hi Delta, > So, does this require the script to be compiled via command line? Or can the executables work through the compiler nonetheless? Works fine through the GUI compiler as long as you've copied the new Ahk2Exe.exe file to the Compiler subfolder (which is C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\Compiler f...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe Changes (2019)

Hi TAC109,

I just tested it with these directives:

;@Ahk2Exe-SetName
;@Ahk2Exe-SetDescription
;@Ahk2Exe-SetVersion
;@Ahk2Exe-SetOrigFilename
;@Ahk2Exe-SetCompanyName
;@Ahk2Exe-SetCopyright

Worked perfectly...great job! Thanks for your efforts on this...much appreciated! Regards, Joe

Re: Syntax of objects in AHK v1.1 Topic is solved

To add a bit to Hellbent's comment, that capability is not specific to objects...it is true for any lines...that is, a line that begins with a comma (or "and", "or", ||, &&, period) is merged with the line preceding it. Explained in more detail in the continuation doc: https://www.autohotkey.com/doc...
