Re: Simple search and replace doesn't function

ineuw , just a minor suggestion regarding performance, each Clipboard operation takes a long time compared to other AutoHotkey commands so you might be better off storing the text into a temp variable, e.g. temp := Clipboard temp := StringReplace(temp, in_put, out_put) temp := StringReplace(temp, i...

Re: ImageSearch - Cacheing or storing image in RAM?

So you want to speed up imagesearch right? I'd say you're better off doing that in AutoHotkey itself. Try making the following modifications: - Reduce screen area that is being searched - Reduce color variation allowed - Reduce image size (matters less) The time to Imagesearch is about directly prop...

Re: Wait for new control to exist, ignore older ones w/same Topic is solved

Sorry for the terse reply last time, I had to run. So you may have some windows already open. Then you might as well check for windows not controls right? In that case I'd use the WinGet, , List http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/WinGet.htm command. Here's some code to get you started: WindowId...

Re: Pinning a shortcut to script to the Windows 8.1 Start sc

I meant to check the AutoHotkey built-in variable called %A_StartMenuUser%, my bad. [Edit - It's actually just %A_StartMenu% - double my bad] Try checking the following location: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs Replace <username> with your account name. You ...

Re: Pinning a shortcut to script to the Windows 8.1 Start sc

Create a shortcut to the script in the start menu folder ( %A_StartMenuUser% ) . Then press windows key and search for the script. Then right click on the result and press "pin to start".

Re: Using built-in variables in an INI file

I'm surprised no one suggested using Transform, , Deref. That will dereference any strings formatted like %this%, including the built-in variable %A_ScriptDir%. I also have a function that incorporates that functionality here http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/67411-iniread-read-someall-values-fr...

Re: Issues with keystrokes in Windows Server 2012 R2

Hey Mike, My guess would be that the particular apps you're talking about are ones with administrator privileges. This became an issue for me also when I switched to windows 8. To test, open 2 windows, one a regular cmd.exe, and the other a cmd.exe with administrator privileges. See if your hotkeys ...

Re: 'Run,%exe%,, Hide' not work for some program

It says in the documentation: Note: Some applications (e.g. Calc.exe) do not obey the requested startup state and thus Max/Min/Hide will have no effect. ...so I'm assuming that's what's going on here. Honestly I usually don't even use those parameters because they're so unreliable. I usually just do...

Re: Determine when an application/window has finished launch

You could also check the appearance of the window (with either GDI+ or alt+printscreen) and check to see when it stops changing. That would require however that your application doesn't have a blinking cursor or something else that is SUPPOSED to be changing.

Make default ahk editor (via "edit" context menu in explorer

When SciTE4AutoHotkey installs, there's a prompt to ask if you want to set it as the default ahk editor. This means ahk files will open in SciTE instead of notepad when you right click > edit in windows explorer, or when you use the "Edit" command in ahk. I changed the following keys in the registry...

Hi Fincs, I have 3 comments about SciTE 1) Every time I install SciTE it resets the settings, for instance to not create .bak files. I don't want to restore the old properties files in case there are settings that have been added or changed. Would it be possible to have it try to import the old sett...

Just delete the AutoHotkey folder. Only things left will be uninstaller entry and file associations, which are both meaningless
