Re: Can different guis's controls use the same global variable? Topic is solved

I just thought of it a little more. GuiControl expects the GUI ID to retrieve the individual content or to modify the individual controls. So yes, in general it should not be a problem. I personally don’t do it, but as long as you know what you are doing you should be fine. In some cases it might ev...

Re: Can different guis's controls use the same global variable? Topic is solved

The controls variable is to control the control (by assigning different states to it) or to set and receive its content. Why do you give these controls the same name? What controls are these?

Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?

I don’t think that this is possible in npp. It is also contradicting the aim of syntax highlighting. Usually one structures large scripts with larger comment sections or with lines of e.g. #### Or by separating the code in different files. I personally use my own function list to find the location I...

Re: Can different guis's controls use the same global variable? Topic is solved

It depends if they are in different scripts or not.
I do not know if it is even possible to do this in the same script. I assume it is not possible. If it is possible I would not recommend it.
In different scripts it should be no Problem.

Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?

I use notepad++ But with a few extensions I do not understand what you exactly want when you write about coloring code. Do you mean syntax highlighting? Or that e.g. when a variable name is selected all other occurrences are also highlighted? Both is possible with npp. If you want to achieve somethi...

Re: How to incorporate .ini files? (Help please)

Please take a look at the help manual. There is a file command that allows to integrate a file into an executable.
If you do not want to compile your script you can use the script itself also as an ini file

Re: Which is the best way to enumerate array elements? Topic is solved

I disagree with Klarions statement that coding in AHK is painful. And that the for loop is in real world slower then the plain loop loop.
I will give no reason since I do not believe that this will help in this thread. But state personal opinion.

Re: Changing script to calculate new date based on days

That sounds like you need a full GUI to do it. - calendar control for the start day - 2 Radio Button or a drop down list for the workday/calendar days - edit field for the days - checkbox to turn on holiday consideration If you do not want that then you may need to define several Hotkeys (e.g. to to...

Re: parsing AutoHotkey scripts

What do you mean with the word “anything”?
My parser already detects a lot.
What do you want to achieve? And why?
Or is this just an accidentally trial to see what is needed to detect everything?

Re: parsing AutoHotkey scripts

Flow control with curly braces is recognized by my parser. It is easy to identify since they have to be first in a line or for a few commands the opening brace could be on the last character (OTB).
Why do you want to parse obj.key and {} or [] assignments?

I believe you an add the control just normally to a hidden GUI, get its size and location relative to the screen. Do the Math, move the control and then show the gui

Re: parsing AutoHotkey scripts

continuation sections and hotkeys/hotstrings Are not really a problem I believe. But currently commands and variables are not identified. Commands might be easy since they are either followed by a space or comma and something that is not an operator. To identify variables seems to me more difficult ...

In which respect do you want to receive comments?
I believe the code is well commented.
The only thing that the code doesn’t do it to identify user variables

What software is needed for testing the script(s)?
I assume Lightroom. Any other required?
Do you consider the code proprietary? Or is it open source?
