Re: How to focus an Edit control and a Listview simultaneously?

The focus can only be set to one control.
What you want is that the edit control has the focus and the listview has the first item selected. A button can be the default button. The default button catches the enter key.

Re: Store/retrieve Object to/from file

EvilC, thank you for the reference.
I’m curious, why do you think ObjDump/Load is overkill?
As a user it seems that using both is nearly identical. It is only to include them and have one command to write it and one to read the data. Even the commands are nearly identical in terms of parameters.

Re: [Lib] ObjDump / ObjLoad - Object Backup

I read that compression was once possible. But was removed for storage in a variable.
Is compression still being done for file or Is it still optional available/possible?

Re: Store/retrieve Object to/from file

Thanks a lot for the reference.
That is what I was looking for. Is there a way to compress the binary data during dump and uncompressed while load?

Store/retrieve Object to/from file

I would like to store data from an object to a file and retrieve it later. I do not care of the format of the file, nor if it is human readable. To get an overview of different approaches i wanted to ask for your suggestions of existing scripts that have this ability. I would like to compare the cod...

Re: transform XML object to AHK object

Thank you so much for your assistance. I have learned, a) that element tags are not necessarily unique among siblings. b) attribute names are unique within an element c) a element can either have children or a value If all the above are correct, I can understand that it is difficult to transform the...

transform XML object to AHK object

I want to read an XML file and extract data from it. Is there a way to get the data into a AHK array or object? So far I was trying this: FileRead, XMLText, % Path Xml := loadXML(XMLText) ObjTree(XML) Return loadXML(ByRef data) { o := ComObjCreate("MSXML2.DOMDocument.6.0") o.async := false, o.loadXM...

Re: Is it possible to make a gantt chart app with AHK?

If you do find a component that you could automate with AHK it might be possible.
But with the controls that come with AHK I doubt it would be worth a shot.

Thanks feiyue for sharing,
Could you please explain why you use a canvas GUI? It seems a lot of overhead. What is the benefit?

Re: Get number of frames in an AVI Video File (learn about the usage of file read & pointers & number conversion)

@burque505, only a suggestion: you might want to open the file only once, read all the info, store all the info in an associated array and return the array. This would reduce the file open/close steps significantly.
Just my 2 cents

Re: How do I edit a drop down list displaying too many options? Topic is solved

You could add a specific string just above the hotkeys in a comment. In case that the hotkeys are for sure at the end of the file.
With loop/regex/instr you could detect the line and start searching/reading from there.

Hi BoBo,

Es hilft sehr, wenn man z.B. Eine Library schreibt, da man dann keine Labels nutzen muss, sondern alles abkapseln kann.

CHM file from ZIP doesn't show any content

Version 1.1.27.07
The CHM file extracted from the zip file of 1.1.27.07, only shows an empty Gui when started.
The CHM file extracted from the installer works well.

Hi BoBo,
the last years I've moved around the globe but have always been here (at least reading/scanning the active topics). I also recognized that you "came back" after a period of silence. :) So I can say the same: Schön von Dir wieder zu lesen.

semicolon has to be escaped within a literal text

Don't realy know if this is a bug. But since it is against my expectation, I post in this forum section. A semicolon has to be escaped within a literal text when a space or tab is to it's left. Column = C Excel("=WENN(ISTLEER(B4) ; " . Column . "3 ; B4)") ; AHK is throwing Error: Missing close-quote...
