Re: Windows Message Search tool

New version. A few minor changes. Still can't figure out how the same code can yield different results. Is it about AHK being x86 vs x64? Is it the system itself, XP vs 7? Please try this version, see if it works for you. Works fine here on XP. Maybe try launching the script with the 32bit AHK. 2019...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

That's really strange. :( For one, have you tried to save the script as UTF-8? It'd display the "Starting with…" properly. Maybe that would also fix the missing decimals, although unlikely. Also try to remove the "Logical Right" options for column 3 of the ListView, see if it makes any difference. T...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

Ah yes, I forgot to mention I saved the script locally as UTF-8, just in case. As such, that "Starting with…" would appear as you mentioned when viewed as ANSI. I added that checkbox only for a quicker refinement of the results. Maybe its name is not well chosen, you can try to find a better one. Wh...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

Good, the list is (more) complete now. And thanks for the tooltips, it's more usable now too. ;) A few minor fixes and changes: - fixed CR codes being propagated to the decimal values column in XP (Sift library needed to be slightly modified too) - fixed multiselect active in ListView - fixed ListVi...

Re: Allow AutoHotkey to Handle Binary Data

Apologies, nnnik , but you misunderstood: I didn't suggest adding such AHK functions - was merely stating that in the absence of direct assignment between binary variables, user has to perform all those API calls through DllCall(), which induces a high overhead. As for those APIs themselves yes, the...

Re: Allow AutoHotkey to Handle Binary Data

I disagree, Helgef. The logical expectancy - at least in the asignment case or the equal/different - would be for the entire contents of the variables to be processed. In the assignment case the entire binary contents should be transferred unaltered to the new variable, and in the second a simple bi...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

Ideally all those values should come from the official source, that is M$'s Visual Studio (but not only). However, I'm not sure if older values are still working or some were deprecated in one VS version or another until the latest. On this XP machine I can't install anything anymore (lack of free s...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately there's nothing else of use there. Some time ago I used an imperfect crawler on VC6 and VC7 whch gathered a lot of junk in the constants database. Haven't found the time to clean it up properly yet. Can't say if there's anything missing in your list; it did have...

Re: Windows Message Search tool

May I ask, where did you find the list of messages and is it complete? I'd like to check/update my ListConstantsW32 mod script. To me, very useful would be to know the range of Windows versions (and/or specific library) each message works with. The real range (including Win9x), not what the crippled...

Re: [Archive] Collection of lost AHK Scripts & Libraries

The last four won't show up because they aren't sequentially numbered like the first 14 (script doesn't have HSHELL_MONITORCHANGED, so the last three won't show up in our case), except as "HSHELL_ ". It'll take a rewrite to fix that, I think; I'll give it a try when I wake up. Yeah, I never checked...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

Thank you so much! I'm not even using the darn thing, it's been disabled the whole time, but apparently that's a kernel driver that still gets loaded and running nonetheless. I've disabled that driver now and will uninstall Kerio soon. Strange though why it started crashing just now because I've had...

Re: [Archive] Collection of lost AHK Scripts & Libraries

It still works great with AHK_L 1.1.30.01 64-bit, no mods. Yeah, but I felt like modding it anyway. :D 20190126125846.png ; https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=260080#p260080 ; Resurrected from Serenity in this post: https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/32628-tool-shellhook-messages/ ; ...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

I do have a few minidumps, not sure if they're of any use. Didn't Nir Sofer create some utility to read such files or am I mistaken? Anyway, here you are: Minidump.7z However, in my area there also are frequent power blackouts and although I have a couple UPSes they just can't handle it so even if B...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

I used to have three such toolbars on my 98SE, with the taskbar at the top (it's always at the top on all of my computers). There was a time when my desktop was completely devoid of icons; even 'My computer' - which cannot be removed from it on Win9x - was "hidden" by using a blank icon and a 'blank...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

Haha, it's just a custom theme/style, nothing more, using a patched uxtheme.dll. :) Yes it's XP, I couldn't use anything higher on a daily basis and it even took me a while to get accustomed to its anal-retentiveness in certain regards after my 98SE machine got put on hold for repairs. Anyway, those...

Re: A needless class to turn a progress bar into a slider (colorful gui sliders)

Could have something to do with the Windows version and its common controls library, and/or AHK version; I'm currently using XP-SP3 (x86) with unofficial SP4 installed, and AHK 1.1.28.00 Unicode.
Well, no biggie. Thanks for your code, it may come in handy.

Re: A needless class to turn a progress bar into a slider (colorful gui sliders)

I mean, sliding upwards it displays lower value, while sliding downwards it displays higher value. ProgressSliderLowHighEdit.png Not displaying as segmented is just another issue, but I don't like that style anyway. :) There is however a script by jNizM originally posted here which I've slightly mod...

Re: [x64 & x32 fix] DeskIcons - Get/Set Desktop Icon Positions

The links above say "taskbar". It's not the taskbar, it's additional bars (AHK class is 'BaseBar' in XP) that can be stuck to the sides of the screen, can be autohidden and always-on-top. These were available in Win9x and XP (possibly in 2000 too) but couldn't find them in Win7. Search engines sudde...
