Re: Allow AutoHotkey to Handle Binary Data

Sticking to v1, and politely asking that v2 only be treated as a test-bed for new features to be introduced for v1, such as pointers and unicode support. Even if there's an off-chance it might break some things for someone somewhere long forgotten about. AHK v2 isn't like switching from Python 2 to ...

Re: Allow AutoHotkey to Handle Binary Data

For example AHK_Basic didn't have an actual ptr type and was incompatible with 64 bit. Yet we moved to 64 bit and those old scripts broke. Same goes for Ansi/Unicode and similar. There's a distinct difference between script breakage due to pointers and other platform changes, versus simply deciding...

Atan2 in code but not documented nor exposed? Topic is solved

I notice that the function ATAN2() does not appear in documentation, but it's declared in code. Is there a particular reason this function is missing, or am I misunderstanding the source?

Re: Request adding TreeListView GUI control

Ah thanks, that's handy. I debated such a method (faux +/- expansion within a ListView control) but seeing as he already put together a package I'll give it a try.

Ultimately, I think it'd still be kind of neat to see some more modernized controls added, if that fits in the scope of the project.

Re: Allow AutoHotkey to Handle Binary Data

I don't believe the "backwards compatibility breakage" argument should hold water here, unless we mean to protect extreme edge cases where somebody is literally stumbling about with their left and right shoelaces tied together while eating a jar of paste. There shouldn't be a reasonable situation wh...

Request adding TreeListView GUI control

Would it be possible to add a TreeListWindowClass control to AHK, the same one that Sysinternals Process Explorer uses, or one like it? It would be immensely useful to have a ListView that included a parent-child hierarchy tree.

Thanks.

Installer should add Content Search registry key

Have the installer add this to the registry. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ahk\PersistentHandler] @="{5e941d80-bf96-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}" This way, Microsoft Windows will allow the user to search for the text contents of their source code inside .ahk files, as with regular text files. How? Ctrl+F in Window...

Re: Running webpages from alternate data streams..

You don't need to specify a browser, that is the operating system's job.

Code: Select all

Run, file.html
However, most software cannot access alternate data streams, so you will have to copy the file out as a "normal" file.

Re: Someone needs to write a keyboard driver for AHK.

The problem here is the nomenclature you're using. It's actually quite impossible for AutoHotkey to allow a user to "cheat". To cheat is not to have advantage over an opponent... It's to have unfair advantage. I'll give you some examples. Things that are not cheats: Buying a larger and more expensiv...

Re: Someone needs to write a keyboard driver for AHK.

If such a driver is written, it would be capable of working with all scripting languages and not just AHK. As far as being kicked or banned for running a given process, it should be possible to disguise AHK from detection. The primary reason I use AHK within certain games is to augment my input devi...

Someone needs to write a keyboard driver for AHK.

Just putting this out there. If someone in the community has experience with writing driver software; AutoHotkey really needs a driver that can be controlled via script in order to circumvent so-called "anti cheat" measures that prohibit games and software from receiving simulated keystrokes. With a...

Lol, there we have it. lexikos is a Venusian :P (there are 243 Earth days to one day on Venus, but they observe longer weekends due to tougher labor laws) I agree what with you're saying lexikos, on all points. It's just that, for me, IRC is a matter of convenience and suits well with the sort of qu...

Re: A_TickCount to use GetTickCount64 instead of GetTickCoun

Challenging that a bug fix (the 49.7 day limitation) will break old scripts (that work around this bug) is a logical fallacy in software development.

Those old scripts will be updated accordingly, should any exist.
