Re: Suggestions on documentation improvements

Please add "WinWait(Close)" links / references to GUI
------------------------
Chapter "GUI" does not tell us about the importance of "WinWaitClose". For me it is totally new that a self-created GUI has to be stopped (Waited) after calling ...

Basic understanding, based on example "Sort"

(Question on base of 3rd hour on try and error) It seems that the usage of Lisp influences my basic understanding of AHK again and again.. I have a string: teststring = A,B,D,C In Lisp I would use something like if (= (sort teststring) teststring) ..... But in AHK "sort" does not return a value, it ...

Re: Runwait with Comspec and WritetoLog

You mentioned c:\mylog.txt . Generally Windows does not allow files to be created in the root directory of c: . Try specifying your file in a suitable directory. My fault - I tried to write the example as simple as possible. I modified the posting above. But the (not-)writing of the log is not the ...

Search duplicates in delimited sting? Topic is solved

For example, I have the string

Code: Select all

red`nblue`ngreen`nred`nblack
The second "red" is a duplicate. Are there exiting functions in AHK to check it?
(Otherwise, an extra loop is not that hard ..)

Check string if its a filename?

I should check if a string is a path with filename.

Like..

OK:
c:\temp\test.log

Wrong:
c:\temp\test
temp\test.log
c:\\temp\test.log
c:/temp\test.log
c:\temp\test.log txt
... and many others????

Are there some predefined functions in AHK which check (a part) of these possibilities?

Re: Runwait with Comspec and WritetoLog

Enclose all the DOS commands in another set of double-quotes:-.... Thanks, but it does not work. Without the output-paraneter ">> d:\mylog.txt" it.. - starts the cmd-window - sets the color - starts the exe with the params - it runs approx. 20 sec and brings some progress-messages to the window - i...

Runwait with Comspec and WritetoLog

I have something like this to call my defined EXE with defined parameters in a loop RunWait, %ComSpec% /c color 16 && echo my job is running.... && "%main_exedatei%" "%Config%" Works fine, and waits(!!) fine with the next loop. But when I add an output -option like this RunWait, %ComSpec% /c color 1...

GUI - show, submit and recall Topic is solved

I have a (maybe stupid) mistake in my code-structure. The simple idea is - show a GUI-dialogue - press a button - GUI disappears, something is done - GUI should be displayed again -->> And here I get the message that a variable cannot be defined twice ... What's wrong? Here is the structure of the c...

Re: "RunWait": complex concatenating

Solved, thanks.

But nevertheless - although the variables are used: never forget to quote them (for existing blanks and that stuff)

RunWait %ComSpec% /c "%ProgName%" "%Config%" >> "%ResultFile%"

Re: "RunWait": complex concatenating

This EXE has to be started from command-line, because I don't know another way to pass the parameters. My first way was to create BAT-files, but this will be unhandy to maintain and to use: a lot of batches where only a few letters are different. This is why I made a GUI which checkboxes where I can...

"RunWait": complex concatenating

have a command call, at the moment called via a BAT / CMD file. It starts an EXE with a (long) parameter and writes the output to a log-file (>> command). It looks like this "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2018\Map\bin\IMBatch.exe" ConfigFile= x:\my test\data\1-klick_wartung_vlwa.xml >> results_v...

Re: WinActive for many similar windows?

No ideas? Maybe I described it more complicated then it is ....

WinActive should check all ahk_classes which begin with a defined string and ends with unknown strings, like ...

my.program.12
my.program.hey
my.program.23x-8
my.program.abc123.89.d

WinActive for many similar windows?

(I suppose the answer will be a half-liner ..) --------------- I want to start a script only when some special windows are active - so I think "WinActive" is the right was. All windows are different, but similar. The ahk_class begins always with "WindowsForms10.Window.8.app........" - see attachment...

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe changes

For me as beginner I'm confused about the current state of the AHK2exe. To compile it in one sentence:

When I want to use the directives which are described in the first posting - which version should I use?
And will there be disadvantages for my (really simple) scripts?

Peter
