Recommended Updater-code?

I looked around here for an "updater" function (which I have to modify for my own app), and found the AHK updater Script: https://autohotkey.com/download/Update.ahk Super simple download with progressbar: https://autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1674 Are there some recommendations for bette...

Autohotkey on Windows 10 Enterprise CBB (1607) and Windows Server 2016 LTSB (1609)

Hi I have a small AKH script (32 bit, compiled to Exe, I have the source code ) which now runs on Windows Server R2008 (or 2012??). Now the admins of the server want to update and asked me for compatibility with "Windows 10 Enterprise CBB (1607)" and "Windows Server 2016 LTSB (1609)" Is there an ans...

Re: Named GUIS and LV_ADD

Yes, that's also fine. But it would not work with the messed up GUI-names in the my first example.

Re: Named GUIS and LV_ADD

Hi @ lexikos and @ just me thanks for your detailed help. a) It seems that the basic problem was my misunderstanding of +HwndSysinfo . I thought that Gui, new, Gui +HwndSysInfo assigns an empty GUI and then assigns the name "Sysinfo" to it. But a simple Gui, Systeminfo: new, does it: it creates a na...

Re: Named GUIS and LV_ADD

lexikos wrote:...LV_Add and Gui +HwndSysInfo operate on the default GUI. Gui, SysInfo:Add says "add a control to the SysInfo Gui". These are two different GUIs.
Yes, this is what I tried to say. The main-Gui (Bundlelist) from the first code segment calls a second GUI (Sysinfo).

Named GUIS and LV_ADD

I still have problems to understand the naming and the hierarchy of GUI .. :| I have a main GUI with a button which starts a sub-GUI: ShowStartDialog: SS_REALSIZECONTROL := 0x40 ; erzwingt Grössenanpassung des Bildes in die Control Gui, new,+HwndBundleList, % "my caption" Gui -Resize -MaximizeBox Bo...

Re: ListView - ColClick: Sort up / sort down

I modified it to check first against last value, and change the operator:

Code: Select all

        LV_GetText(Out1, 1, A_EventInfo)
        LV_GetText(Out2, LV_GetCount(), A_EventInfo)
        isSortedDown := Out2 < Out1

ListView - ColClick: Sort up / sort down

Already done: To click on a column header toggles the sorting of a column "up / down" (asc. / desc.). With "Colclick" I can remember the number of the sorted column. Question: How to recognize, store and reuse if the column was sorted "up or down"? Is there a built in feature or must it be handled w...

Re: Localizing the own code - some recommendations?

Thanks, this function looks fine. But add the moment all the additional functions are bigger and more complex than my main-ahk, so I will go back to "simple" editing my code.

Re: Localizing the own code - some recommendations?

After some days I tried to continue and found the problem with "strings" which are concatenated. If I set them to the INI, the subroutine calls them as "one simple string" and AHK does not evaluates the commands and options, like new-line and variables. The line MsgBox, 52, % "Switcher", % "Attentio...

Re: Localizing the own code - some recommendations?

As usual, I'm fighting with more trivial questions .. I have a GUI where I want to write the "translated text". I define the GUI and call a function: Gui, Add, Text, x+15 Section , % callmsg(1) .... callmsg(nummer) ; Nummer wird übergeben, Sprache kommt vom Dialog, Sprachdatei ist fixiert { global l...

Localizing the own code - some recommendations?

I think the localization of AHK-code (also compiled) could be done (not so hard) with a LNG-file in INI-style and placeholders in the code, which look for the right strings in the LNG-file. Before I reinvent the localization-wheel, are there some recommendations for existing AHK-codes or snippets? H...

Re: "FileMoveDir" with Admin-Rights

Why don't you use Run command ? ...[/code] This is what I thought too, but I didn't try it because I understood the help-file in that way that a password is obligatory. But I should try ... "FileMoveDir" with Admin-Rights

I use "FileMoveDir" to rename a folder. Sometimes I got an error message, and as I tried to rename it with Explorer, I got the wellknown message "You need Admin-Rights to rename this folder. Do you want to continue? Continue / Skip / Cancel" Continue did the job, without asking for username and pass...
