Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

Hi Folu,

Just FYI, my impression is that this library is really designed for people who are familiar with AHK. With that said, near the top is a line that says "#u::". This means, press the Windows key and u to get it to start.

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

I just wanted to note that the issue that I described two posts up isn’t showing up today (the sURL == "" one). I’ll continue to keep an eye out to see if it starts again. If not, it could have been a problem that I introduced when benchmarking (if so, I apologize). The other issue, described higher...

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

Edit: Please ignore the following post for the moment. There may be some problems with it. I've been trying to see if I could make any progress on this, so I've been exploring and benchmarking the code. I thought that I'd share what I found and the code I used to get it. Most of the time for the AC...

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

Thank you, Antonio. I'll update my script so that it uses ACC more widely as well. Thank you also for looking into the error I'm getting. I suspect that I am getting the error because my main loop runs every 250 milliseconds, whenever my computer is on. As a result, I get the error almost every day....

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

I just got the exact same error again (I checked and the screenshots are identical). This time it happened in Chrome when I closed a Google Calendar tab and it switched to a Google drive tab. A hypothesis would be that the problem arises from the following code: For nChild, accChild in Acc_Children(...

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

I've been running the above code and it has been working terrifically from a performance perspective. However, occasionally I do get an error from it. Both times seemed to happen when the URL was changing when the code was being called. The first time was from a redirect caused by the server. The se...

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

Thank you for this terrific code. I'd like to use it in a script that behaves differently based on the URL in the active window. As such, I'd like to call GetActiveBrowserURL() within a 250 millisecond loop. Something like this: SetTimer, MainLoop, 250 MainLoop: sURL := GetActiveBrowserURL() DoSomet...

[Solved] Re: Website blacklists using COM

Thanks, Tank. I've used hosts in the past, but it takes a while for the hosts file to be re-read and it can't be extended to things like whitelists or blocking based on other parts of the URL. Also, it requires admin privileges to edit the hosts file, and I want to avoid that if I can. TLM saw this ...

Re: Get the URL of the current (active) browser tab

Thanks so much for writing this. Just knowing I have a library that will work with all of the big browsers is incredibly helpful.

[Solved:] Website blacklists using COM

Hello,

I'm trying to write an open source program like Cold Turkey, which helps people by blocking distracting websites:
http://getcoldturkey.com/

Is it possible to implement website blacklists using COM? It's okay if it only works for a specific browser like IE.

Thanks!

"Setting" existing objects

Hello, I have an "Options" object that has a bunch of "option objects" in it. Each of the options has bunch of methods and instance variables. Here's what I want to do. Options := {} Options.AnOption := New OptionClass ; When I do this: Options.Option := SomeValue ;I'd like AHK to do this: Options.O...

Re: SerDes() - AHK object (de)serialization [v1.1 and v2.0-a049]

Thanks for some great libraries, Coco. Is it possible to serialize to a variable in memory? I'm looking for a simple way to inspect objects in memory by serializing them and then displaying them via a msgbox. I've tried displaying a class variable via the JSON.dump(), but it doesn't work, so I thoug...

Re: AHK and WinPCap

Holy crap, I'd be very interested in this as well. Wrappers already exist for many other languages. Perhaps one could be ported to AHK as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pcap#Wrapper_libraries_for_libpcap.2FWinPcap Most likely it would use DLLcall, but you'd have to investigate winpcap to know f...

Re: Columbus - a fast program launcher/searcher

Heya, I think this program looks great. I love that it's open source and I've been keeping my eyes out for an open source Launchy replacement now that Launchy isn't being updated. I've got some feedback that I'd love to give, but, first, would you mind either adding some more comments to Fuzzy()? In...

Re: My resignation, and some background of events lead to.

Thanks for your balanced and wise perspective in this thread, Lexikos. As someone who has learned so much from AHK and has cared about the community since even before Chris started to pull back, I've been watching the thread carefully recently. Thank you, also, Tank and JoeDF for your service to the...
