Re: FileExist() - trouble puting variables and strings in () Topic is solved

You need spaces between parts when you concatenate, and make sure you're adding "\" characters where necessary. Also use overall parentheses to indicate you're using the expression version of the if statement. if (FileExist(A_LoopFileDir "\olds\" ProductNumber) and FileExist(A_LoopFileDir "\news\" P...

Re: If/Between/ Pixelsearch output dont work

You've made up your own (invalid) rules for the if (expression) statement. For one, if ... between doesn't work in an expression-based if statement. Also, you can't have multiple conditions separated by commas. You need to use and and or to combine multiple conditions. You didn't get a syntax error ...

Re: My list of often use mouseclick related functions

Because you didn't assign anything to it, not even a null value. Since you're using expression syntax, it has to end with Y := "".
Proof:

Code: Select all

Y := "hi"

Width := Height := X := Y :=
MsgBox, %Y%

Width := Height := X := Y := ""
MsgBox, %Y%

Re: New Homepage - Scheduled Next Friday (Feb. 3, 2017)

What was the point of saying that? :'( just feels you're attacking because you want to. Anyhow... first, the poll is still open... Second, if you normalise "I like pie" out... It's 23/41 instead of 23/53. So yes it is a majority... A 56% majority. :/ I didn't mean unanimous so literally. :p i dont ...

Good job. That makes all the difference in the world. The flashing made it unsuitable for any use (for me, anyway), not just for demos.

The vote shows the winner got 43%, and your design did get votes (as did leave it as is). How is that unanimous? It's not even a majority.

Re: automate linking

StringReplace could do the job, but you have to be careful if you have some instances where it already has the tags around it because then you'll have the tags around it twice. If the word will always have a space before it, that makes the job easier because you could replace _implant with _<a href=...

It's always best to post your attempt at the code so people can point out issues. It's better for you to learn and also so someone doesn't have to write something from scratch for you.

@Boiler, lighten up dude, my comment was meant in the most light-hearted way possible. It wasn't a personal attack. I have nothing but love for this great big AutoHotKey Family, truly. There is nothing wrong with complaining, complaining is constructive! @joedf, I think we all have nothing better t...

Great suggestion. Very positive about AHK, and gives a nice intro and overview of the language.

Because I'm trying to make the site better and grow the popularity of AutoHotkey, that's why. I am making what I consider constructive criticisms because I'm trying to represent the AutoHotkey in the best light possible. If you consider trying to improve things complaining, I'm glad we don't share t...

Nice demo. There is a lot of flashing of the window as it redraws from one view to another. Any way around that?

Re: Combined Run + Password Scrpits Doesn't Work Topic is solved

You're not waiting for the program to be loaded and its window to appear before you try sending to it. Use WinWaitActive before you send the password. You might even add a bit of Sleep after it becomes active.

Re: New Homepage - Scheduled Next Friday (Feb. 3, 2017)

Wow, that video is the worst thing to have as THE featured video on the AHK homepage. 1. It's almost 3 full minutes of him talking about totally irrelevant stuff before he even mentions AutoHotkey. 2. When he does mention it, one of the first things he says about it is that it often gets detected as...

Re: Need help to rename a file (strip invalid chars) Topic is solved

Don't know what's wrong. It works for me in your exact situation: 1. Run 4GForce's code 2. Select the text "This:is|a*test" and press ^c 3. Click on a file in my file explorer window. 4. Press F2 (the filename is highlighted ready to be renamed) 5. Press #v (it renames the file to "Thisisatest") I'm...

Re: Need help to rename a file (strip invalid chars) Topic is solved

OK. I misunderstood what you meant by "Nothing was pasted from the clipboard". I thought you meant that nothing was pasted from the clipboard. You meant that was the actual text string that you copied and was pasted. Try running the script as administrator. It may not let you send text to that windo...

Re: Need help to rename a file (strip invalid chars) Topic is solved

It works for me. The way your script is written, you have to copy some text to the clipboard by highlighting it and pressing ^c to load the clipboard. Then press #v to paste it with the defined characters removed. The script doesn't load the clipboard for you. If you are pressing ^c and then ^v does...

It won't work by pressing win+s because the hotkey is defined as win+v.
