Re: Detect when Windows screen lock/password is active

Well in re-reading my description, I realize there is an error. When the public is done and the tour guide would hit Windowskey+L to lock the computer. . . . they wouldn't be able to if ALL keyboard interaction was blocked, my mistake. SO, there would have to be some way (keyboard keystroke, or mous...

Detect when Windows screen lock/password is active

Can AHK detect when the windows screen has been locked AND unlocked? Password screen lock, I’m talking about. Is there some kind of function? I've searched but don't see anything. USE CASE: This computer is in a public place, so I need for a tour guide to be able to use the keyboard to unlock the co...

Re: Directing Graphic and Sound to 2nd monitor

Presenting a graphic on that 2nd monitor will do just fine. Any idea on how to do that . . . or will this be in the stuff you mentioned sending later today? Thanks.

Re: Directing Graphic and Sound to 2nd monitor

That would be great, thanks. My use case is that I'd like to be able to post graphic "notices" on the 2nd monitor (it is in the lobby) and then be able to make a sound to call people's attention to it. So in the end I'll have a UI that will let you pick from several different messages, and then when...

Re: Directing Graphic and Sound to 2nd monitor

Thanks Miguel7. Yes it is setup like you described. I believe your approach would work, but I was hoping for a more "direct" or "programmatic" approach . . . especially for the audio.

Directing Graphic and Sound to 2nd monitor

I have a second monitor (which is really a 40” Samsung TV connected via 25’ HDMI cable to my PC, that is in another room) that I’d like to direct a graphic and sound to. I’m trying to figure out how to programmatically force/direct the graphic and sound to that “output”. I have a simple script (belo...

Re: Best way to remove/replace GUI picture and text controls

Thanks for the counsel MP, I'll try to be more descriptive. BOILER: That helps a TON. That IS what I'm looking for. I didn't understand how to use the "GuiControl" line, OR that you could give the control a variable name (i.e. "Pic1) in the "Gui Add" line, and was struggling with the Show/Hide optio...

Best way to remove/replace GUI picture and text controls

I’m trying to create program that simulates a “DNA matching” program, like you’d see in a crime lab on a TV show/Movie. The code below is my staring point to see if I can do this. I’m using ADD to add the Picture and Text controls, but I don’t see a way to “remove” those controls, so I just keep add...

Re: Using Mouse in “hotstring” instead of keyboard

BRILLIANT! That solves the problem. Thanks so much for that, I'd never of thought to only start the timer only if the first click is received. Thanks for the coaching. Also, you taught me "tooltip", I always use "msgbox" when debugging/testing, but tooltip will work much better for most things, so t...

Re: Using Mouse in “hotstring” instead of keyboard

MJ: Thanks so much. It took me a bit of hacking, and looking at the help file, but I figured it out. I modified it a bit, but your example set me down the right path!! I've changed it a bit so that it "checksthestring" every 10 seconds and execute and/or flushes the variable. The end goal is for the...

Re: Using Mouse in “hotstring” instead of keyboard

thanks for the quick reply, smorgasbord.

Interesting, but doesn't exactly work. If I just press the Rbutton then Lbutton alternating I still get to the msgbox. Eventually, after I get the code to work, it would be a more complex sequence than 3-lefts and 3-rights, that was just for testing.

Using Mouse in “hotstring” instead of keyboard

(just realized I was on the "wrong/old" board, reposting here) I’m trying to create a script that will use mouse clicks instead of the keyboard to perform a custom action. I understand how to do this with the keyboard, for instance, this two line script works (after pressing "aaabbb" on the keyboar...
