Re: Run script on a specific window only.

What I want is to send keys on a specific window so that I can do other things while the script is also doing its job on the window I chose. Let me get that straight. So you want AHK to play the game for you while you're doing something else? Sorry, that sort of thing I've never done; to me that so...

Re: Why are my recent posts marked as solved? Topic is solved

The forum issues is restricted to staff as these are meant for, naturally... the staff. ;) Interesting. This is the first time I hear of that distinction. I had always thought this was a website like other community websites, where there are users and admins, with admins usually just users with som...

Re: Allow users to mark topics as resolved also on this forum

Thank you for confirming my impression, joedf. So my request still stands, although I would reword my reasoning now, taking your explanation in account. But it's really strange that a moderator would set it as resolved; it obviously isn't resolved, and without at least writing something like "won't ...

Re: Run script on a specific window only.

You could do that with IfWinActive, as Masha Leeshoee suggested, but a better and more standard way is with the directive #IfWinActive.

Re: Disable Warnings for currently unset keys

Since I'm not able to resolve the issues listed in the new thread Remapped hotkeys behave strange in other locales , I can't use A_AhkUser's approach and am looking at Exaskryz's now. Unfortunately, that is more cumbersome in my case because I am not actually consuming the control keys myself, but s...

Why are my recent posts marked as solved? Topic is solved

In two recent posts, I wrote that in my experience, I could not use the "Accept this answer" feature, neither on my own posts in this Forum Issues forum, nor on anybody else's posts in the "Ask For Help" forum. Strangely, I noticed shortly thereafter that both these posts are now marked with the che...

Hmm, I don't know why this is marked as resolved. I couldn't do that, so who did?

Allow other users to mark topics as answered

In some of our forums, at least in the "Ask for Help" forum, some topics have an icon next to them with a white check mark in a green box, indicating that they are resolved. This helps not only future readers of the forum, but also those of us who check the forum to help others, because we can skip ...

Allow users to mark topics as resolved also on this forum

When I resolved my recent topic " Mark a topic as resolved ", I wanted to apply the same button to mark my own resolution, but wasn't able to. This could be because it was my own reply, but I think it is because that button is not enabled in this forum. Either way, I don't see a reason for this limi...

Maybe it wasn't working because you misspelled the name %Clipboard%? Have you tried the correct spelling?

Re: simple loop not working

Maybe nobody has replied so far because it's a bit hard to reverse engineer the varied mixture of your uncommented examples in order to understand what you were trying to achieve with them.

Have you tried this on a local folder, rather than over network? Have you tried it with simpler file names?

It seems you have been provided the requested solution. Can you at least acknowledge that? Is that not good enough for you or are you adding another request?

Re: Run script on a specific window only.

Have you tried IfWinActive?

Regarding your other questions:
"ahk_id" is described at WinTitle.
To know the right names for WinTitle, use the tool AU3_Spy.exe that comes with AutoHotkey.

Re: problem copy and paste from internal hard driver to external hard driver

Can you be more specific? In order for anybody to be able to help you, you need to at the very least describe your system, what you did and what happened. But even then, someone willing to help you would have to run the same script and reproduce your problem, and then find the issue in a large scrip...

Remapped hotkeys behave strange in other locales

When the keyboard locale is switched, it leads to some confusion for the user that the changed keys also affect control sequences, such as ^z which will act like ^w on a French keyboard layout. I thought to solve this with the following code: ; Some standard settings #NoEnv #Warn SendMode Input #Sin...

Re: Disable Warnings for currently unset keys

Thank you, guys. I understand that there seems to be no way to disable the warning, and your answers show several workarounds, so we can close this thread. I think the most straightforward workaround is to use the scan code, as A_AhkUser suggested. Initially, I had reservations about that because I ...

Disable Warnings for currently unset keys

My script defines some hotkeys that don't exist in all keyboard layouts, such as: ^ö::Send Hello world! On compilation, this causes warnings like Note: The hotkey ^ö will not be active because it does not exist in the current keyboard layout. How can this be turned off? #Warn has no option for that.

Re: Windows 10 compatibility problems

Thank you for your reply. The best official description of Windows UAC settings seems to be this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/access-protection/user-account-control/user-account-control-group-policy-and-registry-key-settings. Of the settings described there, none applies to my situation...
