Re: Switch/Case statement

I meant that loop can do similar in my estimation, very similar. However, I'm definitely not an expert, so please explain what makes it significantly different so that it's adding something we can't do now. Switch/Case switch(expression) { case constant-expression : statement(s); break case constant...

ControlClickDrag

We have MouseClickDrag, but feel strongly that ControlClickDrag is needed. Because if a person is writing a script using Control commands, this would allow for consistency.

Re: SendEvent is more reliable than SendPlay or SendInput

I've run across some interesting situations where SendEvent was more reliable than MouseClick or ControlClick. Like dealing with mouse clicking in NetUIHWND. I think it's just disconcerting to maybe newer or less experienced users, where they have to try something else because the way they usually u...

Re: UIA Automation - Inspect.exe for AHK

This is a fantastic tool for automation. Good work. I was thinking of doing something like this, where a tool gives a picture of all controls in a window and organizes it in a way that is similar to what it looks like visually. A kind of clone of the Window, but more of an x-ray, showing all the con...

Re: PixelClick Sample Script

As is, and tested with desktop icons, it works fine. 1) You would click on a desktop icon and wait for it to show it's info in the ToolTip. 2) Another ToolTip will say that you have 15 seconds to move the desktop icon to a different location. 3) You then move the desktop icon elsewhere. 4) The scrip...

Re: Control Mousedrag possible?

There is the MouseClickDrag and SendEvent command. Both work. My understanding is that ControlSend doesn't do mouse clicks. So you would have to use ControClick. ControlClick doesn't seem to accept the double mouse coordinates, so can't do dragging. It would be nice if ControlClick could do dragging...

Re: Google Captcha Terror

I think the better policy is to not allow guests to post, just view content. I can't think of any good reasons why somebody interested in posting, wouldn't get an account. A good verification process to get an account should put any spammer on pause. And if a person justs wants to view content, then...

Captcha appears to come on when you are logged off and come to the site. And also Possibly, if you have no cookies from this website. If you login and select to be remembered or have cookies stored on your computer, then Captcha might not come on. In addition, Captcha might be using a bad "challenge...

Re: Inactive window mouse drag using Controlclick

Why must this work on an inactive window? Couldn't you use IfWinNotActive, WinActivate, and then MouseClickDrag? Also, when you supply x and y coordinates, then ControlClick isn't really doing anything special over MouseClick. At that point, it's using the coordinates and you are just making sure th...

Re: Switch/Case statement

I'm presently studying C on my own. Interestingly, C seems to match AutoHotkey well. Where if you played with AutoHotkey, it's comfortable to look at C. I think that maybe the issue with the Switch/Case statement, is it worked too similar to Loop/If. I'm not a pro or expert, but looks like they are ...

Re: [AutoHotkey Programming Tools]

SmartGUI and Resource Hacker are a wickedly good combination. In SmartGUI, you have a "GUI Stealer". You can pull windows from dialogs in Resource Hacker and put them into the "GUI Stealer". From there, it's simpler to modify an existing design that you saw and liked, to fit your program or as a sta...

You can also try the tools below, get what the text for the button is, and then write a script to do things with the button. https://github.com/fincs/SciTE4AutoHotkey/blob/master/source/tools/ActiveWindowInfo.ahk (Active Window Info) https://sourceforge.net/projects/winspyex/files/latest/download (W...

Why can't ControlClick or ControlSend work on certain buttons like CtrlNotifySink?

I have a question for the more knowledgeable or experienced programmers. Why can't ControlClick or ControlSend work on certain controls that are defined as buttons, like CtrlNotifySink? In the picture, you see that CtrlNotifySink is a button under DirectUIHWND. I know that I can just do a MouseClick...

Re: Forum really really slow...

I also vote (if it were to count) for the captcha to be removed, or at least modified. AutoHotkey is a very frustrating website to come to. Captcha has become plain ridiculous, and I'm challenged about every time that I come to the website. Maybe it's how it is being implemented. I can see it being ...

Re: Forum really really slow...

Glad it was solved, but the server was like basically down for around 4 days. And if the solution was just to reboot the server, that does seems like a long time to take that action. Such a time period could be very frustrating to many AutoHotkey users. Particularly if there is a surge in enthusiast...

Re: Forum really really slow...

Possibly Cloudfare has something to do with it. Was getting this error sometimes too. It's troubling to see that AutoHotKey's website constantly has problems like this. Going on for years now, and being difficult to reach for many days at a time. It's very hard on users trying to lookup info. Intere...

Re: AutoHotKey Website Security Check

The security check is not rare, but happens a lot. About every time I have ever come to the AutoHotKey site. And sometimes, it's extremely annoying. You can be forced to go through 2 or 3 rounds of testing from captcha to prove you are not a robot. The AutoHotKey website also can load very slowly at...

Re: AutoHotKey vs. AutoIt

I'm a bit sad that IronAHK never came into full fruition. I hope one day that some gifted people continue it. I forgot to mention, something that I like about AutoHotKey (and maybe how others got hooked into it), is you focus more on the tasks and using English than getting bogged down into heavy pr...
