#IfWinActive help

Hi Folks, I want to have an AHK hotkey send a series of hotkeys to Calibre (the book manager app), but only if Calibre is open. My first step is to simply determine if Calibre is the active window. I got stuck there... The window title below "calibre - || Calibre ||" should be correct -- I got it fr...

Re: Too many buttons for GUI, ideas? Topic is solved

Yea maybe. I hadn't really thought about going with a Listbox. That would definitely use less screen space.

Re: Too many buttons for GUI, ideas? Topic is solved

Very nice! Thanks so much you guys!

I used it in the radio group too (for A_Index < 3). I expect that I can also adapt this to accommodate a third column later, if needed. The bottom group of buttons can probably just stay on the left side, so that's all good.

Too many buttons for GUI, ideas? Topic is solved

Hi Folks, below is a screenshot of my super-awesome AHK tool that you guys helped me make. An older version of the code is here https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=11957 though I can paste the latest if it helps. I use it to fill webforms like the one behind it in the screenshot. ...

Re: Using Google Translate to automate text translation

Hi, I just wanted to comment. This code looks similar to teadrinker's code here: https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=40876 The little tool I made from it has worked FLAWLESSLY. Over the last two years I've translated dozens of things and there has never been a problem. Good stuff !...

Re: Independent loop inside of larger AHK file? Topic is solved

Thanks for the replies. I guess I see what you mean about the loop being unreachable... That was a no-brainer. I'm thinking that having loops like this in the same file as bunch of hotstring and hotkey macros is not a feasible solution. As for the second hotkey not working--I had a typo in the hotst...

Independent loop inside of larger AHK file? Topic is solved

Hi All, This is actually a continuation of this thread about waiting for a window to open. (thanks Osprey and Vsub!) The loop works fine in an AHK script file by itself. I'm hoping to have it in with my main master AutoCorrect script that's always running in the background though. I made the below s...

Re: Help using WinWaitActive.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I did have a syntax error! I copied that sample from the bottom of here: https://autohotkey.com/docs/commands/WinWaitActive.htm but I see now that I pasted the winTitle where the winText should have gone. I guess that might also be why my msgBox kept poping right up......

Re: Help using WinWaitActive.

Thanks for the reply Osprey! I only need it to maximize the window once, each time the app is launched. For now I'm just trying your above code though--because it's simpler than the one from your March post. I'm not sure it's working though... The window does not maximize. Here's a screenshot, so yo...

Help using WinWaitActive.

Hi Folks, I have a main script with a bunch of tools (based on the excellent AutoCorrect.ahk) that runs all the time. I'd like add a thing that will constantly watch for a particular window, then resize the window when it appears. Part of my question is whether WinWaitActive can be used this way. Th...

Re: [GAME] REGEX FROGGER

Very cool! I have to ask though, why "regex"? Those are RegEx components driving up and down the street--yes?
Now that I think of it though... Regular Expressions ARE a bit intimidating. Probably a good thing to use.

Re: SendInput is sluggish, stops

Thanks for the additional feedback. The {Text} text mode thing resulted in it typing a caret. "^" I do indeed have 1.1.28.0 As it turns out, I may have fixed the problem by dumping Internet Explorer. In retrospect, this is probably the first thing I should have tried... The only reason that I even u...

Re: SendInput is sluggish, stops

A good thought swagfag. I actually do have a much-altered version of the most excellent autocorrect script that runs constantly in the background. So even though that script is not getting activated during the use of my above script, I suppose that it is "hooking" the keyboard ?? I'm not sure. Anywa...

Hi Safetycar,
I just wanted to pop in and say thanks. I'm currently trying this. At first it wasn't working, but I just noticed that I didn't have the comma in it. Am going to try again.

SendInput is sluggish, stops

Hi Folks, This script works well for the most part, but often it is sluggish and slow entering text, and sometimes the part where it enters text will just stop. Firstly, let me point out that this was written several years ago with MUCH help from people on the forum here -- Thank you all! The script...

Re: Actually remove needle from haystack? Topic is solved

Ha! I'm so stupid. I intentionally built that functionality into the script already and forgot. Before posting, I searched my script for "regexreplace" and didn't find it, but it's actually "stringreplace" that I used. (Long script, second post, 2/3s the way down.) Sorry about that everyone. And tha...

Re: Actually remove needle from haystack? Topic is solved

I'll paste my actual code below. It's a script that creates an Outlook Calendar item. It works like: 1. Copy selected text 2. Regex match possible location, time, date, then subject. 2b. Pop up a Msg of the haystack and matches. 3. Open the Calendar form 4. Use Outlook's hotkeys to enter the things....
