Re: Quick-entry date tool, feedback welcome.

@tidbit: Nice! It also works as a way to preview what different date formats will look like. :) I've been envisioning a minimalistic GUI with a datepicker and a button for changing the last used date (possibly from OP script, above) by adding 3 years to it. I guess the date picker gui element and th...

Re: Quick-entry date tool, feedback welcome.

Actually, the DateSetter: label can go away altogether. I left it because I thought it made a decent section separator/identifier for the code that follows it. :) Technically-speaking, would it be better to have commented line e.g. ; ==== SEPARATOR ======= To separate the sections? Commented...

Re: AutoGUI - GUI Designer and Script Editor

WOW! Love this! Thanks for making and sharing it. I tried putting it here: C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\AutoGUI-1.1.1 (64x Windows) Got this error --------------------------- Program --------------------------- Script file not found: C:\Program --------------------------- OK -------------------------...

Re: Quick-entry date tool, feedback welcome.

That's true I guess. It occurred to me that the way to avoid adding that "IfWinActive" part multiple times is to have it in a Function, then call the function twice ;) Will do that next. Also, right above the dpButtonSubmit: (for the GUI date picker) I added Esc:: dpGuiClose: I noticed that if it wa...

Re: Quick-entry date tool, feedback welcome.

AWESOME! Thanks for posting this! I didn't even know that the potential to do this existed...
This definitely makes the code leaner and meaner! :)

EDIT: Actually, the DateSetter: label can go away altogether.

Quick-entry date tool, feedback welcome.

Hopefully this is working well enough for this sub forum (still basicaly a n00by here). It's for entering today's date with the hotstring ;d0 (semi-colon dee zero). future dates are ;d1 for tomorrow, and so on up to ;d9 for nine days from now. Days in the past are ;dd1 for yesterday, and so on to ;d...

Re: How do I get a variable from a Loop, Parse?

If you assign a g-label to the Radio buttons and remove vMySchChoice, when that g-label is called, A_GuiControl will contain the text of the Radio button. I suppose that this would be sufficient: Gui, t2:Add, Radio, x12 gMySchChoice, %A_LoopField% ... MySchChoice: MySchChoice := A_GuiControl return...

Re: How do I get a variable from a Loop, Parse?

Thanks for the reply lexikos! I'm not sure I'm using this right... I changed the variable to vMySchChoice so that there's no confusion with the gMyChoice below it... Given this: #NoEnv ; For security #SingleInstance force ;================================== Gui, t2:Add, Edit, x21 y16 w153 h20 , Stud...

Re: How do I get a variable from a Loop, Parse?

I tried this: IniRead, AllSchools, SchoolsList.txt Loop, Parse, AllSchools, `n,`r { Gui, t2:Add, Radio, x12 , %A_LoopField% School_Index = %A_Index% } But %School_Index% always equals 2 (which is the number of items getting parsed). I'm starting to think that this is not possible. There's another pa...

How do I get a variable from a Loop, Parse?

Hi Folks, Given something like this, that reads the sections from a txt/ini file "SchoolsList," and displays them as radio options; How to I "get" the chosen item so I can put it in a variable? IniRead, AllSchools, SchoolsList.txt Loop, Parse, AllSchools, `n,`r Gui, t2:Add, Radio, x12 , %A_LoopField...

Re: Seeking stylistic, etc, input...

Thanks for the feedback guys! Yea, I read the thing about not overusing labels when I was almost done with the thing... :-/ So I guess, rather than redirecting people to a point above the trigger to show the GUI, the preferred option would be to just include "GUI, Show" commands through out? Seeking stylistic, etc, input...

Hi Folks. I'm doing my happy dance because after years of waxing and waning AHK attempts, I finally stuck with a project long enough to get it into working condition (with a little help from you guys and Google). This will be pretty rudimentary stuff for most of you guys, but it's huge for me. :danc...

Safe to have IniRead read from .txt?

Hi All, Beginner here... I'm trying to make a form-filler tool that my coworkers and I can use to auto-type text into webforms. I hope to use IniRead, because my handy AHK GUI can pull from different sections of the ini/text file for the various forms we have to fill. An .ini file versus a .txt file...

var from edit box not getting saved in gui...

Hi All, Noob here... I'm wanting to type a person's name into the edit box, then it'll get saved as a variable, and written at the end of my MsgBox. It's not showing up in the MsgBox, so I guess it's not getting assigned to the variable "vStudentName." (?) Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? #NoEnv ;...
