Re: Screen clipping

@Cerberus - Just an FYI- I removed the IMUGR upload from this version as I virtually never used that functionality anymore. :( Bummer about it not working on 32 bit version. There is probably a 32 bit version of Tesseract but I don't have the time to investigate. Regards, Joe Oh, I see, that's too ...

Re: ExplorerTool – small enhancements of default shell

This works on Win Vista, Win 8. I didn't check it on Win 10, because I avoid using it (it messes up my multi-boot sequence). I agree to avoid win10 but for other (privacy) reasons. you could easily setup multiboot by using vhd (no need to partition the hard drive). search the internet if you want t...

Re: Screen clipping

In our May webinar BlackHolyman demonstrated using Tesseract for OCR. I liked it so much I incorporated it into my screen clipping tool. You can download the files from here and watch the demo video below ... Very interesting; I use your Screen Clipping tool every day (including the auto-post to Im...

Re: Script help needed. Read data from clipboard and insert into this script.

You can use the clipboard (or any other variable) by enclosing it in percentage signs, like so: %Clipboard% By the way, are you aware that #b acts like pressing b while holding down the Windows key? If you want to send the actual hash symbol, do {#} instead of #. If there is a chance that the clipbo...

Re: Sublime Text Resources - [plugins, lang files, etc.]

You can't fix this. Not whilst using .tmLang files for doing the syntax highlighting, as they can only ever parse a single line at a time. There is virtually no way for the lexer to know an opening brace is coming up on the line below belonging to a function declaration. This is sad. I'm really add...

Re: help with key combination condition

The problem is that the second parameter after the Input command, the output variable (the parameter command , in your script), only outputs characters, not hotkeys that don't produce a (visible?) character. And ^j does not produce a character, it's just a hotkey. From the documentation : OutputVar ...

I think there are plugins for Sublime Text that support code folding. I'm planning to try them and find out what works best.

Re: Syntax and naming conventions?

Pretty much as described already for variable/function/method names. I'm not a big fan of CamelCase generally, but it seems to be the de-facto standard for AHK. I drop my leading braces down a line - I blame a workplace style guide from years ago where OTB was frowned upon for some reason. Argument...

Re: ! or 'not' to validate an expression in an if statement as false? Topic is solved

also, the "if var in/contains/type" style if's are on a separate page than normal if's for a reason: they are different than normal if's. they are not expressions, cannot use (), cannot use with || && and so on. they need to be EXACTLY as documented on their own page, not as documented on some othe...

Re: What Was The First Language You Learned?

You've collected quite a few languages! My first programming language was Autohotkey. It probably began with some clicker script of yore, but now I feel comfortable enough with it to get things done. Much later, I began learning Javascript, and now I can use it to do most of the things I need. I've ...

Re: your personal AutoHotkey style guide

I think giving variables clear names is paramount, as mentioned above. Thinks I consider when naming: - What does it contain? - What will it be used for? In the example of getting the PID of a windows, I might do it like this (pseudo-code): GetPID, Active_PID If (Active_PID = DesiredValue) Notepad_P...

I never used Capture2Text enough to really say, I didn't get past testing. With the consensus I can tweak it to be accurate enough to do the work I need Ah, OK, neither did I. By consensus you mean, when using a method where several attempts agree about the result, Vis2 works well enough for your n...

Re: opinions on Stack Overflow

SO and the other large Stack-Exchange sites can indeed be harsh. English.SE is also very harsh, and I can say that as I have been on that site for 8 years. You only need 5 grumpy old high-reps to close a question, and you need only 1 to post a challenging comment. I have a few suggestions: 1. Don't ...

Re: Still confused about when to use % with variables? This helped me figure it out

Excellent for beginners! This is indeed among the most confusing inconsistencies in Autohotkey. I think the best solution is a good syntax highlighter: if you consistently highlight strings or string content as, say, yellow; special symbols that are active/working as purple (e.g. percentage signs in...

Re: ExplorerTool – small enhancements of default shell

Wow, this is perfect! Each of these functions is highly useful. It works well on Windows XP. One little thing that could make it even more useful is if the new folder could be selected and "rename" activated, because 99% of the time, you would want to give that new folder a name. P.S. What's far? I ...

Ahh, I see, yes, that's it! I probably never noticed because I always use spaces. I've added it to my .sublime-syntax file.
