Re: What do YOU use AHK for?

I believe you cannot send a push message to Autohotkey, so you need to set a timer and poll ever x seconds? I'll look into that sometime eventually. Yes, that is the way to go. It hasn't do to with AHK - it is just how these APIs work in general. But it is not a problem - you just call the Updates ...

Re: What do YOU use AHK for?

Telegram offers a very comprehensive Bot API. But to use this, the recipient (which could be yourself, too) has to start a chat with your bot (although group bots are also possible). Then the telegram user can send messages to the bot and receive messages from the bot. You cannot send messages via ...

Re: Dbgp.ahk (by Lexikos): how can I set a breakpoint, and how can I continue?

... Thank you very much! That method for creating a list of breakpoints that you can act on is great! I had been trying the breakpoint_list method as well and couldn't get it to work. I realise now that my original question was worded poorly, but you and Lexikos helped me understand enough to get b...

Since Alguimist has already shown "what line", I'll try to explain more generally. ... Thank you very much for elucidating the workings of the script! Now I understand the theory behind it a little better. I realise now that my question was worded poorly (I meant "what line of code should I add to ...

Re: Dbgp.ahk (by Lexikos): how can I set a breakpoint, and how can I continue?

What follows is a modified version of dbgp_test.ahk where a breakpoint is set on line 3: Sorry I had no time to test and reply earlier, thank you so much!! And you posted actual finished/working code, too! I'm very happy. Now I can create a basic debugger. I can set several break points and do some...

Dbgp.ahk (by Lexikos): how can I set a breakpoint, and how can I continue?

[Update: corrected typo sb → bs.] I am trying to learn how to use Dbgp.ahk, made by Lexikos: https://github.com/Lexikos/dbgp But I have no idea how to begin. The includes scripts Dbgp_test.ahk and Dbgp_console.ahk connect to a script perfectly fine. Dbgp_test.ahk also shows the correct lines that ar...

Hey, I'm curious: how do you use Autohotkey to send a Telegram message to a specific recipient? That would be a cool way of communicating with my phone!

Oh, and is it easy to get the content of a new message in Windows?

Cool. I presume there is no linter for Autohotkey? I've created one that works for Sublime. I've not heard of any other linters.

Re: Why isn't it printing the full line?

The exclamation mark stands for alt, so you're sending alt-f. Enclose the ! in curly braces: {!}.

Or use SendRaw instead of Send. It will send even special characters as they are, so it will send ! as an actual exclamation mark.

Re: Sublime 3 + AutoHotkey? Topic is solved

I generally thought that with everything in place, it worked quite nicely for AHK. Two reasons I kept looking were: (1) It is not meant to be used past a trial period without purchasing, and I was looking for something I could install and use in many places. (2) It would have been a pain to try to ...

Re: Sublime 3 + AutoHotkey? Topic is solved

I'm not sure which I used. I have since moved on to Visual Studio Code as my primary AHK editor, and I no longer have Sublime Text 3 installed. Out of curiosity, why have you moved on? What was it that you didn't like about Sublime? And can Visual Studio Code really do everything that Sublime can, ...

Is there a working ahk syntax highlighting for sublime 3?
That package works perfectly for me. So maybe you need to reinstall, try more things?

Re: Switch/Case statement

As Jeeswg says, one can always use another way instead of case/switch. However, case/switch is uniquely accessible and clear. The first time I ever saw case/switch in a bunch of code, I immediately understood more or less what it would do. It's easy to understand and to learn for laymen, which fits ...

Re: Sublime Text Resources - [plugins, lang files, etc.]

Thank you, everyone, for these great tips! I've added a couple to my Sublime Text. As to properly highlighting function definitions where the curly brace comes on the next line, it cannot be done in Sublime Text, it's hardcoded that way. The problem is that a regex cannot look beyond the end of the ...

Re: Debug with Sublime Text

I remain hopeful! Anyone happened to have figured this out yet? :D I haven't! It seems Sublime Text Xdebug just doesn't interact with the code from the Autohotkey script that I'm trying to debug. The debugger does seem to connect to Autohotkey: the state of the variables and the stack are shown cor...

In addition to what Wolf said, if you want it to work only with the left Windows key, use <# instead of #.
