Re: Fileselectile command displays only part of filename

Oops... Said "the window size is the problem." should read: "the window size is NOT the problem"

Fileselectile command displays only part of filename

I have created a right-context extended menu item for windows. It executes my RENAME.ahk script. It uses the selected file as the parameter (%1%) for the script. So, the script is passed the entire fileid. I've boiled my script to practically nothing. It is: b := 1 path := %b% ; Get parameter 1. fil...

Forum colors - I can't read certain buttons

I'm running Windows 7 pro and I've changed a ton of Windows colors, but I don't believe that is my problem. I can not read many of the items in the forums. Specifically, I can't read many of the forum buttons and built-in headers. The text and background are SO SIMILAR IN COLOR as to make it difficu...

Re: OnExit not triggered when script contains #InstallKeybdHook

I spent 2 hours working on this before I discovered the extremely subtle relationship between EXIT, ONEXIT, a persistent script and #InstallkeybdHook. I read ALL the documentation about each. thoroughly. The DEWD did point me in the right direction to understanding the issue. (However, I DID READ th...

OnExit not triggered when script contains #InstallKeybdHook

In the following, the OnExit routine is not triggered by the EXIT command: #InstallKeybdHook OnExit, ExitRoutine exit ExitRoutine: msgbox exiting test.... exitapp However, remove the #InstallKeybdHook directive and it works just fine. I can find no documentation about #InstallKeybdHook or OnExit bei...

Re: Else statement never gets executed

I think I may get it now. Please correct me if I'm wrong. When the documentation says When an IF or an ELSE owns more than one line, those lines must be enclosed in braces. However, if only one line belongs to the IF or ELSE, the braces are optional. it means EXACTLY AND ONLY an IF or ELSE statement...

IF var is varname

I would like to propose an addition to the list of "variable types" to be checked for by the IF VAR IS TYPE command. I think it would be nice if AHK could check for a variable value being a valid variable name , e.g. IF myvar IS TYPE VARNAME Thanks Joe Petree p.s. yes, this is quite easy for some, e...

Re: Else statement never gets executed

Thanks for the info about IfNotEqual and SetEnv being removed in Ver 2. I need to read up on proposed changes. I just started using the IF statement formats with a command appended. Maybe I should avoid them entirely. One point, however. My issue really has only a little to do with IfNotEqual. The s...

Else statement never gets executed

In the following, the ELSE statement is never executed: if (output = "clipboard") IfNotEqual, iniout,, SetEnv, clipboard, %iniout% else ifNotEqual, output,, SetEnv, ErrorLevel, 3 GEI003E Invalid syntax. Invalid output parameter: %output% I have to write it this way: if (output = "clipboard") { IfNot...

Re: How do I get the path of a function? Topic is solved

Thank, kon. that's all I needed. Now, if I could only figure out why A_ScriptFullPath and A_LineFile both point to a filename, while being two variables with entirely dissimilar names.

How do I get the path of a function? Topic is solved

I have script A. It calls function B. From within function B, how do I find the fileid (the complete path) of function B? I have tried %a_thisfunc%. That is a start (more than anything else I've found), but just give the filename. I have tried %a_workingdir%, but that is the working dir of Script A....

Re: SEND command and equal sign

I just found the following at the documentation for #escapechar: Send - When the Send command or Hotstrings are used in their default (non-raw) mode, characters such as {}^!+# have special meaning. Therefore, to use them literally in these cases, enclose them in braces. For example: Send {^}{!}{{}. ...

SEND command and equal sign

The documentation for SEND is missing information on the EQUAL SIGN. SEND =abc the above does not work. Nothing is sent. Some variations work, some don't. the following code shows 8 variations. Number 1 and number 3 SEND NOTHING. Either the code for AHK is broken or the documentation needs to clarif...

Login indication

This is a wish: When I log in, I see only one TINY, subtle indication that I am logged in. And, that is that the LOGIN icon has changed to a LOGOUT icon. For those of us over 50 who hate icons, this is annoying. (Yes, we have to learn... they are taking over the world!) I think it would be nice if s...

Re: What is the process of registering an item?

You didn't answer the question. You said "you register a label or function when you..." Well, what does it mean TO BE REGISTERED? Did I sign the label up to take a course? My point is the DEFINITION of REGISTER (what it means TO BE REGISTERED) , not HOW something is REGISTERED.

What is the process of registering an item?

I found the following in the documentation (AHK v. 2) for ONEXIT, under the AddRemove parameter: One of the following values: 1 (the default): Call the function after any previously registered functions . -1: Call the function before any previously registered functions. 0: Do not call the function. ...
