Communication between two computers.

I'm guessing it's not possible to send a message from a script on one computer to a control on a script on another computer. I need to do something similar. Is there an easy to use networking script or library available? I have done similar functions with ahksock but it's not what I call easy to use...

Re: SOH Characters crashing my script. Topic is solved

I was able to work out that the characters were in fact being sent from the script on the other computer. Turns out I just needed to add a short pause between when the script gathered the info from the other window and sent it back to this computer.

SOH Characters crashing my script. Topic is solved

So this is a weird one. I'm using AHKsock to transfer information between two computers on my home network. I've hacked his Example 3, which is a chat box, to send commands from this computer and receive information back from the other one. The script on this computer always locks up after some rand...

Re: ACC Library, Yet another question. Topic is solved

Well that was easy. Took me a while to find those in the ACC library but once I did I was able to understand how to use them.

Thank you yet again for your help.

ACC Library, Yet another question. Topic is solved

The ACC library is now working well for retrieving information from gui controls that Windowspy can't see. So now I'm wondering if it can be used to access controls, such as click buttons? I saw that Microsoft has it in the tools but I don't see anything for it in the ACC library. So can the ACC lib...

Re: ACC Library, new question.

SUCESS!!!!! Once I figured out which tool you were referring to.

While AIV gave me "1.1.4.13" as a path, your tool gave me "4.1.1.4.13". That fixed the problem.

Thanks again for all your help.

Re: ACC Library, new question.

Maybe I have an old version?

Code: Select all

vAccPath := "--" ;not implemented
Actually I think I'm looking at the wrong script.

Re: ACC Library, new question.

Ok, so for an object it should be 0. I still have blank message boxes from both.

Code: Select all

q::
WinGet, hWnd, ID, A
oAcc := Acc_Get("Object", "1,1,4,13", 0, "ahk_id " hWnd)
MsgBox, % oAcc.accName(0)
MsgBox, % oAcc.accValue(0)
oAcc := ""
return

Re: ACC Library, new question.

Yes, exactly what I was looking for, it uses the path. Only I'm still not getting it. The sample code does work for retrieving from notepad, but when I try to use it for my program I get nothing. The only thing I can see to change is the path. What am I missing? What is the (2) parameter after accNa...

ACC Library, new question.

I was shown how to retrieve information from controls, that Windowspy can't see, using the ACC Library . However, having to specify their position is not reliable, especially since it only responds in screen mode. Controls change positions depending on the page and what it's function is at the time,...

Re: Using the ACC library

Yes, that is working too. It does seem to only work with screen coordinates so I'll have to maximize the window every time . Thanks again.

Re: Using the ACC library

That works great, thanks. Although I can't claim to understand it, it is showing me the exact information I was trying to get. Next question. I can only figure out how to get the control under the mouse. I'm guessing that's what "Acc_ObjectFromPoint" does. Since I know the coordinates of the control...

Using the ACC library

I'm trying to learn the ACC function library as the tool Accessible Info Viewer finds a lot of information that WindowSpy doesn't. I'm just starting at the top of the Library's Function List to see what information I get from each but it's above my head. This script receives nothing from the library...

Re: Hotkey function

Made a script just to test if the code was correct and it works fine. There must be something in my main script that is keeping the hotkey from activating. Gui, Add, Button, x5 y5 w100 h25 gon, On Gui, Add, Button, x5 y+5 w100 h25 goff, Off Gui, Show, w110 h65 , Hotkey Test Return on: Hotkey, RButto...

Re: Hotkey function

Ok, I moved the library into the same folder as the script and included it. It no longer gets the error message but now it is not activating the hotkey.

Code: Select all

#Include, MG.ahk

Hotkey, RButton, MG_Recognize, On

Re: Hotkey function

I still get the error message" Target Label Does Not Exist". The function is in a library file, I'm sure that makes a difference.

Hotkey function

I am not understanding how to use Hotkey on/off when using a function instead of a label. It says the label parameter can be the name of a function, but when I use the function I get the error "Label not found". This works, RButton::MG_Recognize() But this doesn't, Hotkey, RButton, MG_Recognize(), O...

Re: Run and DOS commands Topic is solved

I don't understand what you are doing here so it would be better if someone else could jump in and help you but, have you tried like this?

Code: Select all

Run, %comspec% copy /b ""%A_WinDir%\system32\extrac32.exe"+"%CabPath%" "%MoviePath%", %A_ScriptDir%"

And never mind. I replaced AHKsock.ahk in my library folder with what must be a newer version and it started working.

Re: Run and DOS commands Topic is solved

I believe you should be using "Run, %comspec%" for this.

In the examples for the run commend, look at the lines that use comspec.
RunWait, %ComSpec% /c dir c:\ >>c:\DirTest.txt, , min
