Re: Hotkey to hold modifier while repeatedly pressing another key Topic is solved

I am also using Windows 7, and yes, Magnify can sometimes be a nuisance, but I still use it a lot for quick "in-place" access when doing pixel accurate editing (without having to constantly mess up my zoom levels in the application itself).

Thanks for looking into it anyway.

Re: Hotkey to hold modifier while repeatedly pressing another key Topic is solved

I have now had a chance to test the program properly. I completely disabled all AutoHotkey scripts and used the program's own built-in Ctrl + F6 and Ctrl + Shift + F6 hotkeys with various different sets of windows. As I suspected, your code works exactly as intended, and it's the program itself that...

Re: Hotkey to hold modifier while repeatedly pressing another key Topic is solved

Hello, It seems as if there may be instances where the cycling of windows will go briefly backward and forward even though the same key is being pressed. For example if I have 5 windows open (Win1 - Win5) and I keep pressing PgUp key, the cycle will mostly work, but then you will sometimes get somet...

Re: Hotkey to hold modifier while repeatedly pressing another key Topic is solved

Thank you so much! This works wonderfully. I thought that it would be easy for me to use your code to create the opposite action for PgUp. However, it is not working as I had hoped. The hotkey Ctrl + F6 cycles forwards through the windows, and the hotkey Ctrl+ Shift+ F6 cycles backwards through the ...

Hotkey to hold modifier while repeatedly pressing another key Topic is solved

I have a program where in order to cycle through the various open windows you have to press and hold down the Ctrl and then press F6 to switch to the next window. The thing is, I want this triggered by a hot key that uses no modifier; I want it to be triggered by pressing only the PgDn key on its ow...

Modifying a hotkey's default action when another hotkey is pressed

I have this command that I want to use only if the program magnify.exe is running. NumpadMult:: Send ^!{Space} However, I use the ctrl+alt space key combination for another important system-wide command. Therefore, when I press NumpadMult while magnify is running, it triggers my system-wide action i...

Thank you, Rohwedder.

This works perfectly, and the code is very simple and elegant.

I appreciate your help.

Most efficant way to check if a certain program is running Topic is solved

I would like to perform an action whenever a certain program (illustrator.exe) is run. I only need the action to be performed once whenever Illustrator is launched. The action does not need to keep being run continuously while Illustrator is open. It's just one action per launch of illustrator. In o...

Re: Prevent a program from intercepting a hotkey

By " interfere " I mean that it's a hard-coded Magnify hotkey. Magnify does not provide a user option to modify the hotkeys for Full Scree, Lens and Docked. Therefore, pressing Ctrl+Alt+L when Magnifier is active always activates Magnify's 'Lens' option, even though I don't want it to. https://i.img...

Prevent a program from intercepting a hotkey

I have a hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+L) that I have assigned using the option settings of a particular program. It performs a certain function regardless of which program has focus at the time (so it functions system-wide) but the hotkey itself was set within the program, and not defined by me in AutoHotkey. I...

Matching a window title where the name ends with a space

I have two windows that have identical names except for the fact that one of the windows has a single trailing space at the end of its name. Admin Console Admin Console<space> To be clear, it's actually just a space character. I only wrote out the word <space> so that it would be visible. I need to ...

Re: Modifying a hotkey in Windows Magnifier only

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately, your response does not address the issue that I was raising. I know how to replace to the navigation keys (that's the easy part), my problem is (as stated in my original post) that I need to free up the original hotkeys used by Magnifier, so that t...

Modifying a hotkey in Windows Magnifier only

I would like to change the built-in hotkeys that Windows Magnifier uses to navigate around the magnified screen. I need to do this because the hotkeys assigned by Magnifier interfere with other programs where those same hotkeys are needed. By default,Windows Magnifier assigns Ctrl+Alt+Arrow (where "...

Re: Resizing a window regardless of how it is launched

This has been working well, but is there anyway to use it without having to specify all of the values? If I use the WinMove command directly then there is the the option to leave certain values blank (comma separated). When doing so, the program that is being launched will determine its own values f...

Re: Resizing a window regardless of how it is launched

Thank you very much for your reply. You helpfully provided an example of how to insert a program into the shortcut (which is the easy, straight-forward bit that even I could figure out) but not how to do the same in the script itself (which is the difficult bit that I don't understand). I don't know...

Re: Preventing a built-in Windows hotkey from acting globally

You're explanations are really helpful in understanding not only how to do something, but why it works the way that it does. Thank you! I'd like to ask one final question on the same topic of restricting the scope of when a hotkey will trigger. I have found some code that checks if one of several wi...

Re: Preventing a built-in Windows hotkey from acting globally

On more question: Why doesn't this work if the assigned hotkey doesn't include a modifier? #IfWinActive ahk_class Progman e:: Run calc.exe return #If e::return ; this is my addition It runs calc on the Desktop, but then you can't type the letter e anywhere else. How do you have the 'e' key function ...
