Re: Random behavior in script. How do you know where Sleep commands are necessary?

Ah Boiler, I wish you were right. But the fact remains that adding a ClipWait, .2 after a Send, ^x command changed the behaviour of my script drastically, to the point that the script stopped writing Chinese letters or pasting commands instead of executing them. The script was simple enough: This us...

Random behavior in script. How do you know where Sleep commands are necessary?

Hi everyone! I have a script that has a random behaviour, where it should not. I suppose it's due to the fact that the script is too fast in some cases. I don't really know how Autohotkey processes the script from one line to another and whether it's supposed to wait for one line to be completed in ...

Re: Read a string and perform different actions when certain subpatterns are found (must be easy but I am lost) Topic is solved

I think your actual string does not work as it's not how my strings are prepared. The actual string I have is something like this (one of the many). Atención: 3<TAG1>Brillo<TAG1><TAG2>El operador puede aumentar o disminuir el brillo de la pantalla.<TAG2><TAG3> I performed a simple String:=StrReplace...

Re: Read a string and perform different actions when certain subpatterns are found (must be easy but I am lost) Topic is solved

I am so tired at this moment that I am really struggling to see the difference between your string and my string and how you obtained yours from mine. I am THAT tired! But I will check out your code. I regret somewhat that I used a bit of a "prepared" string instead of an actual one and I am now str...

Re: Read a string and perform different actions when certain subpatterns are found (must be easy but I am lost) Topic is solved

I am sorry but it's 6 am and my mind is not what it used to be. How would it be done? I am going to try on my own as well, but I am so dense at this time of the night I could be writing Chinese for what it's worth (and I don't speak a word of Chinese)

Read a string and perform different actions when certain subpatterns are found (must be easy but I am lost) Topic is solved

I have been fighting with RegexReplace, RegexMatch and InSrt and the like for hours, and I am lost and depressed. Here are my needs. Let's consider I have a string, such as: String:="Atención: 3╚1>Brillo╚1>╚2>El operador puede aumentar o disminuir el brillo de la pantalla.╚2>╚3>" I need to take that...

How to shorten a script to make several replacements in a string Topic is solved

Hi everyone, I need to do something, and I can certainly do it, but the only way that occurs to me is something so cumbersome and stupid there must certainly be a better way. What I need is this. I have a string that can contain a lot of certain words. If such words are present in the string, I need...

Re: How to properly use RegexReplace/RegexMatch with several subpatterns Topic is solved

Amazing! Thank you! I have now discovered where my problem lay. I always thought that RegexMatch and RegexReplace would keep working until the whole string was processed, but it now seems that the process stops with the first occurrence! No wonder I had been hitting a wall! I have spent 2 entire day...

How to properly use RegexReplace/RegexMatch with several subpatterns Topic is solved

Hi everyone! I have a problem I have been fighting with for the whole night, and it's as follows. Suppose I have a variable made of a long string. I need to find some patterns within that long variable, and modify them. I have also tried RegexMatch apart from RegexReplace to try and capture the seve...

Re ó I did include commented code, did you see it? No I had not. It works! You are awesomeeeee!!! Apparently I had seen some comments and discarded them. Damn! It's sometimes shameful when you are completely lost and someone helps you and makes you wonder how you could be so dumb (or how can there...

Re: I need to find out which specific special character is being copied into the clipboard

I have been doing a lot of research and the code you posted does not work for me. However, the free ClipBoard utilities told me that perhaps the command If !WinClip.HasFormat(49351) is not correct. The one that is correct (for me, at least) is this one If !WinClip.HasFormat(49418) I have no idea why...

Re: I need to find out which specific special character is being copied into the clipboard

Hi Bobo, I don't understand. I work on an Translation tool that works on an online browser. I don't need Word so I this article does not help. As I said, what I need is simple, what is not simple (for me!) is solving it. I have a string that comprises some plain text and some embedded tags, which on...

Re: I need to find out which specific special character is being copied into the clipboard

I am at a loss on what to do. I have reading these posts for several days, and I am able to recover the text and extract it, but cannot modify it and then place it back while respecting the tags in the same position. In other words, I want to go from this Captura.JPG to this captura 2.JPG And I have...

@Braunbaer You are amazing. I have been studying your code for hours and even it's so simple it's not that clear to me that it works, but it does, perfectly!

So thank you!!!

Thanks also to the rest of posters. Your help and support is truly appreciated.

Can you toggle capitalization of contents of a string in Autohotkey? Topic is solved

That's the simple question. Due to some unusual circumstances, I need to find out how you can toggle the capitalization of a sentence. In other words, if something is in lowercase, change it to uppercase. And viceversa. The real reason behind this is that I need to do a strange case conversion invol...

How can you calculate exactly how long does Winactivate of a particular window take?

I have the following problem. I need to program a script that focuses back and forth between two different windows (particularly, a Firefox window and an Edge window). The thing is that the script has several iterations so I need to optimize the process. I have noticed that the WinActivate function ...

Can Autohotkey find out when you have finished dictating with Dragon Professional and then do something to the result?

That is my query. Dragon Professional Individual is not recognized properly in some environments, so capitalization etc. fails miserably. My question is... could I write a Autohotkey script so when I am done dictating each sentence, autohotkey will automatically capitalize the first letter of it? An...

Re: Spaces in clipboard become carriage returns when using command Run Topic is solved

The only solution that works is the one reported by "just me". Don't know why, as these scripts worked a few months ago. It must be something I installed. However. I'd also like to thank Bobo for his Notepad2. It does not help in this case, but I am using it from now on anyways... it's definitely an...

But the question is... why does this happen???? And you know the funny part? A month ago, it worked. And I have no idea what has changed in the last month. No idea whatsoever.
