is there some tutorial for geekdudes chrome.ahk COM stuff?

I initially wanted to use IE and it's COM commands but as I unfortunately learned, my target site itself doesnt work with IE. So I will have to work with Chrome instead. what I wanted to do was haggle thorugh the websites source code all the way inside a certain <span> element. wanted to use the usu...

Re: Get string inside an html tag?

apparently Internet Explorer has beeen abandoned by Microsoft for the sake of Microsoft edge (which has no COM stuff). maybe that's the reason why it doesnt work anymore? It does still work. You not having written a working script yet isn’t evidence of it not working. also what do you mean when tal...

Re: Get string inside an html tag?

The thing is, that window is already open and does other things in different tabs. So opening a new instance might be no good idea, especially cause I would need to login at the site I want to use. it would be better to have the website prepared so far and only have ahk work on the existing window. ...

Re: Get string inside an html tag?

I looked through some stuff and probably this one would be what I would probably need: https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/ComObjGet.htm however I would need some display name of the IE window or the tab I want. After following the provided link https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/win32/ap...

Re: Get string inside an html tag?

As I said. the whole html code contains many sections like the following: <span class="span_1172299_1159764185 span_1172299"><i class="fa fa-clock-o" aria-hidden="true"></i> 30 s<span> </span></span> there may be other span tags in the html but I only care about those that have the class span_... in...

Re: Get string inside an html tag?

Before you can do the above, you need to create the web browser object as shown in the tutorial as in this example: wb := ComObjCreate("InternetExplorer.Application") ;// Create an IE object wb.Visible := true ;// Make the IE object visible wb.Navigate("www.AutoHotkey.com") ;// Navigate to a webpag...

Re: how to turn a live array like thing into a static one or how to add elements to an array?

I dont usderstand arrays in ahk to begin with (or they just dont seem to exist frankly). literal all other languages out there have a syntax similar to: a:=new array [5] for (int i=0;i<=a.length;i++){ a :=i; } you define an array of the wanted length and then fill each spot of it with something so y...

Re: how to turn a live array like thing into a static one or how to add elements to an array?

Thanks for the help. Even though I can't say I understand most what you wrote there. My main issue is: on a certain website when I "investigate" the website (I use chrome for that) I find the following html opening tag, inside many other div containers and stuff: <div class="Ad" style="min-height: 3...

Re: count the amount of occurences of a stringon a webpage and where they appear?

For reference: my problem is essentially this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14117682/finding-top-level-x-window-x-y-coordinates-of-ctrl-f-text-in-firefox or something like this: https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=14127 where the "cat" text is highlighted due to me ctrl+f search...

Re: How to create a function without input and output?

I can't say that I really understand the last 2 sentences.
havent looked into AHK too far, for the most part only the normal clöick left mouse and press button H kind of commands.

so can I just use something like this?

copytoclipboard()
{
Sent{Down,strg}
Sent{c]
}

How to create a function without input and output?

in other programming languages, this would be called a procedure. basically a function that does something specific without any input or output. something like this (written inpseudo code) copytoclipboard() { Sent{Down,strg} Sent{c] } just so I can write copytoclipboard instead of writing these 2 se...
