have you considered converting some popular scripts from the v1 era
into built-in functions in v2, so that we can completely abandon the use of v1?

Unlikely to happen. This would more likely bloat the language itself. There's nothing stopping you from porting it to v2 (the community is also helpful to assist you in case you get stuck somewhere in the process) or using one of three libraries to import v1 code into v2 such as import_v1lib by thqby, the official v1 dll from GitHub or the AHK_H dll. While I definitely like more features and functionality being added to the language, I can also see why trying to "keep the language small and memory efficient" is an important thing too.

This request is too broad. I might consider individual functions on request, but it is unlikely. In general, this not going to happen, so I'm "closing" this topic.
I do plan to implement better tools for converting scripts, automating what is possible and reporting on all possible issues.
