Why coders love the AI that could put them out of a job
At this point, seems more like an advanced form of code completion or code suggestions. Just a more helpful tool. It isn't creative nor knows what you want done.

------------------

Film colourisation experts have remastered footage of the last-known surviving Tasmanian tiger.
The original footage of the Thylacine was shot by Australian zoologist David Fleay in 1933 on black-and-white film.
The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) of Australia commissioned the restoration to commemorate National Threatened Species Day, which the country recognizes every September 7.
The date marks the death of Benjamin, the last known Tasmanian tiger, who died in captivity in 1936.
Samuel François-Steininger from Composite Films performed the colorization, according to an NFSA press release.

The American authorities are faster than authorities in the rest of the world! All over the world there is a days-long gap between receipt, processing and assignment of a death certificate to those who died from the Corona Virus.
I have read that this process is usually between ?2 days? and up to 14 days. I suspect the deadliest day was at some point during this period! So generally not in the last 24 hours.
This is a statistical bias and I think that a country should be more careful with such reports.

Yep, there's "so much winning!". Let's guess all over the world they care for more important things first ...
And btw, this isn't a numbers game. :lolno:
My daily prayer here is that this corona will end

-- Worcester haulage firm boss on what's to blame for driver shortage | Worcester News
....
This has been largely attributed to the estimated shortfall of 100,000 drivers, which has been partly fuelled by 14,000 EU drivers leaving the country post Brexit.
However, Mr Pinches believes that large companies have brought a significant amount of their problems on themselves with the long-term poor treatment of workers within the industry.
....
"But since everything has been tightened up health and safety wise, we've lost generations of drivers who wouldn't have had that introduction to the industry.
"That's going back 20-25 years ago and we're seeing a huge knock-on effect, we've not enough young blood in the industry."
Mr Pinches said that a lot of older drivers left the industry when tightened regulations and training came in almost 20 years ago.
Since then, he's noted an industry wide struggle with getting in younger staff.
"There is a problem in the industry, it has been highlighted more now, but it has been ongoing for some time," he said.

Long queues and closed pumps have greeted motorists across the country amid fears of a driver shortage leading to a lack of fuel.
Some drivers have been forced to go to a string of garages to find fuel.
Some petrol stations have introduced a £30 cap on fuel purchases to restrict demand.

-- Toilet rats! Vermin are all over Britain – and they’re climbing up our waste pipes | Animals | The Guardian
Name : Toilet rats.
Age : Nothing new, but an upward trend.
Appearance: Like a regular rat, but this time in your toilet.
I’ll be honest: I do not like the sound of this one bit.
You are not alone.
How did the rat get in the toilet in the first place? It came up the waste pipe.
You mean they’re coming from the toilet? That’s correct.
Why is this happening?
It started during the first lockdown in 2020, when entire business districts were depopulated.
With less rubbish lying around to eat, rats invaded abandoned offices in search of food.
By swimming up the loo pipes?
If toilets aren’t being used the water in the U-bend can evaporate, making them even easier for rats to access.

-- China energy crunch triggers alarm, pleas for more coal - CNA
SHANGHAI:
As a severe power crunch roils China's north-eastern industrial heartland, senior officials face mounting pressure from alarmed citizens to ramp up coal imports thick and fast in order to keep lights on,
factories open and even water supplies flowing.
With electricity shortages sparked by scant coal supply crippling large sections of industry, the governor of Jilin province, one of the hardest hit in the world's number two economy,
called for a surge in coal imports, while a power company association said supply was being expanded "at any cost".
