I'm looking for a simple way to develop mobile apps?

29 Mar 2022, 06:30

Hey all! It's been a while huh?
Yeah, I'm looking for a simple way to develop Android Apps. Has anyone ever used Autoplay Media Studio?
You know, a way that feels more like scripting? And I really need it to have an interface builder. But I'm really hoping for this to be a desktop application.

Thanks for your time!!

Reason: Topic moved from 'AutoHotkey > General Discussion', because there is no relation to AHK.

Possibly consider sticking with AutoHotkey. Your AutoHotkey app could possibly run on Wine (Linux & macOS) or Parallels (macOS). Wine (https://www.winehq.org/) also works on Androids now too (https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/android/). Each new version of Wine is becoming more capable. Maybe also see Winetricks (https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks). It might also be possible to compile a more Wine friendly version of AutoHotkey. I think this is a path to put AHK on other OSes that I've never seen fully explored; alternative versions with greater Wine compatibility.

For example, there was an old alternative version of AutoHotkey, called AutoHotkeyX (ahkx) by tinku99 (https://github.com/tinku99/ahkx?files=1), that was compiled with GCC instead of Visual Studio. This alternative version is displayed at WineHQ (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=17738) and had a platinum rating. That fork of AHK and AutoHotkey.dll is maintained now by HotKeyIt (https://github.com/HotKeyIt/ahkdll).

Eventually, AHKers should be able to use Keysharp (based on IronAHK- viewtopic.php?f=80&t=77248) for multi-OS apps. C# (which Keysharp uses) is starting to evolve into a fully featured cross-platform language.

I'm for sure looking into that, but do you have anything else that you use regularly? Preferabley with a complete IDE but with the simplicity of AHK?

@Draygoes - you could have a look at http://www.Automagic4Android.com (for scripting on Android, even if it’s not exactly what you’re looking for) :)

Hey thanks! That's awesome! I was hoping something like this existed, and I had thought about looking for it before.
Scripting on Android, cool!
