I just watched "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" (long title ahaha), and thinking about declining knowledge and general intelligence...andymbody wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 23:07I agree. Human intelligence will decline at a more alarming rate than it has already. It's very sad that humans are choosing this fate of their own free will. Evolution teaches that humans evolved from monkeys (which I totally disagree with), but monkeys they shall become unless this path is altered.
Individuals who are unable (or unwilling) to exercise their intelligence, are at the mercy of those who do.

Having to pay a regular fee for full use of a peripheral could deter customers, though.
HP is trying a similar idea with rentable printers that require a monthly fee.
The printers differ from the idea of the forever mouse in that the HP hardware belongs to HP, not the user.
However, concerns around tracking and the addition of ongoing expenses are similar.

Re: « What's on your mind? »
What a terribly ignorant statement. the fact that we have a long standing thread and numerous other topics on the subject if read would contradict this
the fact is that these blocks in browser are algorithm set.
there is no meaningful dispute procedure.
the primary reason for false flags has to do with the very thing that makes ahk small fast and fulfill such a gap in needed functionality. Using a low level compiled language that wraps low level API within windows. the code that enables this for example download function is a similar profile to well known trojans. the fact that on its own ahk does nothing is meaningless to virus scanning software that look only at memory profiles in the compiled code
You seem Naive to the fact that no one is safe from false flags. Antivirus Software is a necessary component of modern systems, it is also terribly flawed
https://www.tomsguide.com/news/what-are-false-positives-and-how-to-avoid-them
Some light readingA well-known example of a false positive was when Microsoft Security Essentials tagged Google Chrome as malicious. The software removed Chrome from around 3,000 computers as a result and Google had to run a patched update of their chrome browser for users to download.
https://www.safetydetectives.com/blog/what-are-antivirus-false-positives-how-to-fix-them/
As to the statement around companies not using AHK
I have personally worked in 3 different major financial institutions that use AHK
Walgreens utilizes it heavily.
I am not dismissing that it is a serious issue. but it is an issue no one is safe from let alone this tiny community

Indeed. I periodically receive alert emails from our firewall appliance warning of a virus signature match on download attempts from Akamai - in the middle of the night - when no one is working.tank wrote: You seem Naive to the fact that no one is safe from false flags.
99.99% of the time it is a new Windows update triggering the false positive. Will you rant to Microsoft, @zandra_s, about how irresponsible they are.
(Well, they are, but that's a whole other discussion)
