I just got one of those Confirm That You Are Human challenges when trying to get to the AutoHotkey forum. I'm beginning to question my humanity.
Lmao
Sorry about that, I turned on some protective measures.... Cloudflare's been reporting DDOS attacks. Some forums users have reported sluggish site performance as well... :?

I've been using this trick on and off for about 6 months. It has come in handy when I just want to read one or two articles from a pay site. It doesn't always work but it usually does.

-- 100-year-old woman still works 4 days a week—her best career advice
... Burns, who turns 101 on July 26 2023 .... tried retiring several times throughout her 70s and 80s, but would “unretire” just a few months later because she missed the routine and lunches with her co-workers.
Ultimately, there’s no secret to living a longer, happier life, says Burns, but “working has helped.
Throughout her decades-long career, Burns has learned that there’s one trait all of the “best jobs” have in common: nice co-workers.
“It’s important to find people who are friendly and kind,” she says.
Having good working relationships doesn’t just make your job more enjoyable — it can also make time go by faster, which according to Burns, might help you live longer.
“Staying busy keeps you from focusing on your aches and pains,” she says. “It makes it easier to keep going.”

-- Texas paid bitcoin miner more than $31 million to cut energy usage during heat wave - CBS News
As a bitcoin mining enterprise, Riot Platforms runs thousands of computers in the energy-guzzling pursuit of minting digital currency.
Recently, however, the company got big bucks from Texas to lower the mining operation's electricity usage.
Riot said on Wednesday that the state's power grid operator paid the company $31.7 million in energy credits in August
— or roughly $22 million more than the value of the bitcoin it mined that month — to cut its energy consumption during a record-breaking heatwave in the state.

Right now, my mind is solely occupied by my recent clothing purchase, and I'm contemplating whether I should make another one. The allure of fashion and the thrill of finding the perfect outfit are hard to resist. It's a delicate balance between satisfying the desire for new attire and managing practicality. So, as I ponder the decision, I can't help but be drawn to the idea of adding another stylish piece to my collection.

I think there are more, but I am unsure. IBM, Oracle, LinusTechTips, Intel, maybe?
Do people think it's worth mentioning on our homepage?

This makes me both happy and sad. If my math is correct, they were able to extract 40,394 pounds of trash (mostly plastic) from the ocean in a single extraction. I'm happy because these programs to clean the ocean are out there. I'm sad because I know this is just the tip of the tip of the tip of the tip (and keep going) of the iceberg.

Here is another extraction in Los Angeles after a rain event. They were able to get about the same amount of trash here (~35K pounds).
