Ahkscript Vs. Autohotkey

04 Jan 2014, 23:34

move to proper thread if it is not.

sometimes some sites ask for the language in which the code is submitted.

I want it to be ahkscript, i mean whatever i post in there, it should make people open this site instead of the older forums.

what should i type ?, ahkscript --?

Thanks in advance.

On Pastebin and alike?
Well basically ahkscript is not a language, because we still use .ahk :)

i shall try again:
For instance my friend asks in what language are you coding, i say autohotkey, he asks what is that, i reply google it,

now i want google to prompt this site that is ahkscript.org instead of autohotkey.com

So what should have been my reply to the question

what language are you coding?

??

Your reply: "I'm coding in a scripting language called AutoHotkey. Google ahkscript.org"

i havent posted there in quite a while. I wouldnt call them a mirror either. This domain clearly is followed more by the current developer. but autohotkey.com has history and brand recognition. there are major differences in the forum and soon the documentation. still getting search rankings is going to take both time and effort. refering to ahk as autohotkey or ahkscript may have equal accuracy. both currently refer to the same product and language. the difference is clearly the community

Or they could just type it into the address bar. In general, I don't like seeing people ignorantly type a web address into a search field. Sometimes they end up in the wrong place, and it's usually somewhere dubious.

I disagree. I avoid that place most of the time, and even when I go there, I'm less inclined to post.

Since the forum software used here is older, or at least less modern, I'd say it's not an improvement. It's just better. :P

This morning there were 8 posts since yesterday at the old forum, and 16 here at the new forum. It seems to me that is pretty much the norm.

I truly hate that.... It is inevitable but i hate it. I dont know why but i kept hoping Poly would either wake up or hand it over.... PHPBB3 may in fact not be movile friendly. It may not have flashy features. but it is easy to maintain stable and light weight. The board is well suited tosupport a scripting language. better in my mind than any of the others i have seen. In my browser at least it is also pleasant on the eyes

I use duckduckgo, and for me it's number two. Well, technically it's number five, but the second result is l.autohotkey.net, which now redirects directly to ahkscript.org. (Unfortunately, ddg still lists autohotkey.com as the "official site".)
