Yes, very nice idea. :)
(But it's irritating, that it doesn't automatically pause time, when you type inside the codebox, because due to that it's restarting all actions again and again, while you append a line...)

Today I did something that I haven't done in a loooooooooooong time: I opened my Recycle Bin.

What did I find? 40 000 files totaling 30GB in data. The last time I'd emptied it was over seven months ago. Now, for some people, that might be normal. But it's not for me. Everything on my computer is organised just so, and it is my usual habit to empty the Recycle Bin every week or so, checking if there's anything I still might want. I shudder when I see some people's desktops so full of useless icons and shortcuts that they start overlapping on each other due to lack of space, because I can't stand for any of that nonsense.

On my desktop, I have a column of nine links on the left that I use often, like My Computer, Paint, and BlackBerry Link. On the right hand side of the desktop, I have five or six files or folders that I use all the time. Sometimes it's just a temporary location, but for others (like my AHK folder), it's permanent. The rest of my file system is super organised and is nested dozens of folders deep with descriptive names, to the point where I sometimes get the error "file name is too long". As a result, I can't remember the last time I've actually had to use search to find a file. I know exactly where everything is, so navigating to it is a cinch. I'm a bit OCD that way.

What about you? Are you one of those people who just saves their files at the default location (resulting in pictures in My Documents, documents in My Pictures, downloads in C:\Windows... you get the idea: chaos), or are you as meticulous as am I?

You might want to try a program called Fences if you are meticulous about your desktop.

My desktop usually has no more than 8 icons, 4 in the top-left column (3 browsers, Computer), 4 in the top-left row (Computer, recyclebin, 'programs', New folder, ahk [which is eventually merged into my main AHK folder]).
any other icons on my desktop are current project files/temp "work on" files for projects. at most, i'll have 2 rows. if it gets to that point, I'll make a folder or 2 (currently at 1 row, which is 3 extra items.) It most likely won't last that way for more than a week as I'll clean it up.

I also try to use as little harddrive space as possible, I hate keeping things I don't want or don't need or don't like.
rawr. fear me.

Ugh... that thing is more trouble than it is worth. Besides, it's not free. I only have 15 icons (including files and folders) on my desktop, which is so little that it's easier to do it manually.

I have also been using a little utility for the past several years called DeskSave (desksave.de, though the page simply says "Under construction") that saves and restores icon locations when changing resolution or logging off/on, which prevents Windows from screwing it up.

How on earth can you possibly have 800 posts?
Quick calculation: 800 / ~(3 months = 90 days) = ~9 posts per day.
I guess it's not that much, when it's broken down like that... but still.
