Isn't it obvious that SHA is even more unsafe than MD-5 since it actually can specify more information due to it's larger size?
To me it seems stupid to store hashes directly or even hand them out.

:facepalm: :lol: Hmm true, as wiki described it being from blocks... I somehow disagree... Fish are more likely to be found in a stream than in ..say.. a block of ice.

I'm such a noob at crypto. I feel like I've stabbed my fist into a bee's nest that will now devour me.

My latest project is a little PHP web framework that uses SQLite (my newest love) and Blowfish for user data. In my fantasy world, it's quite good, and I'm very proud of it; but in reality, I have no idea and it might actually be crap.

Well... If you don't try... It will be crap.
But if you need help, you can post in "other languages" or stackoverflow is my favorite place for languages other than AutoHotkey. ;)
