I was binge watching an old TV show (I won't say which) when this track came on.

Teddybears - Rocket Scientist (feat. Eve)

Hint: You have to crank it up to get it all.

BudRich! That's a name from way back when:
Tatum starts it off his usual classic way, but Granz goes and barfs the recording, upon which Hampton/Tatum try to riff without a double-take. Too long. This rendition is better:

After reading this thread, there came the epiphany:

How about a Do What loop?

Code: Select all

Do What {
e.g.
Machine BSOD'd
Internet blew up
Xenu has just returned.
}
Or even Doo Wop! Try this sample:

Steve Miller is 76 years old but he's still got it! He was on the Tonight show last night and performed one of his classics with the Roots.

Steve Miller: Space Intro/Fly Like an Eagle (with the Roots)

Steve has had a fascinating life and he has known a lot of legendary musicians including T-Bone Walker, Les Paul, Boz Scaggs, and so on. If you get a chance to see the interview on the Tonight Show, it's worth the watch.

Edit: The video has been marked as private. I hate it when they do that! I could not find an alternate link. Here's a link to the original song.

That's cool. :D
Talking about Steves, there happens to have existed another one, (AFAIK) not related to the guy here or here- but who knows?
Steve Gray was a more than competent exponent of groove and disco, and did a lot of cool stuff. Here's a selection:

Found this on my feed. The back story is fascinating and the performance is (for the most part) amazing. Definitely a blast from the past.

Saw this group on The Tonight Show earlier this week. I was very impressed. They have been nominated for a Grammy for "Best New Artist".
