Could you get banned using AHK script?

Hi, I have a quick question:

I was planning on using AHK for giving companions gifts, automating it and AFK-ing for 10 mins or so. Anyone did this already? Could you get banned for this?

Depends on what you're doing and the strictness of games/websites/programs. It all depends on the developer/admin/owner of whatever you're doing.

Just pressing a key dedicated to giving companion gifts for 10 mins or so.

Yeah, you can be banned. The criteria for banning:

1) It breaks the game's rules. Often for games, the publisher reserves the right to ban anyone for any or no reason at all, so, even if it doesn't break any written rules, it can break an unwritten rule and get you banned.

2) It is noticed by the admins or their anti-cheat software.

AHK isn't going to guarantee you don't get banned. It's a risk you take on yourself. Heck, even programming a robot to physically type on the keyboard and move your mouse for you can get banned even if you went through such elaborate steps to perform as human-like of interactions as you could.

Just as a general life rule:

If it feels like you might be doing something bad, then you probably are. And doing bad tends to cause bad things to happen in the long term.

But on the other hand, short term rewards often feel the most rewarding and sometimes the enjoyment of the short term reward is worth it. Hence the popularity of donuts.

So repetitive AFK automation will get you banned in most games if detected. But if it makes you happy enough does it really matter if you eventually get banned? Not like you plan to play any game forever. Assuming the slow insidious corruption of your soul is not an issue.
