There is the idea of having a subforum for Keysharp: viewtopic.php?p=555123#p555123
I see potential for this to happen, but would like some feedback before doing so. I am hesitant based on the past occurrences when having too many sections, but we can discuss possibilities.
I believe this would be simply be another subforum under v2 to bring awareness to it and provide a place for its followers.
I dont this is urgent, but I would like to get ahead of this and discuss / clearify the idea here to see what people think.
This is a poll just to get initial feedback. It does not necessarily determine the final decision.
We could then proceed to an actual poll.

Thanks, @joedf!
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
I say no, not because it's not important, but it's really just one thread, and we don't need/want a whole sub-forum for just a thread. As joedf said, we don't want to have too many sections. Once it's ready to be used by a wider group of people, it might warrant its own sub-forum, but not now. The better way to provide visibility for this is to sticky the thread.
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Author here. I am fine with a stickied thread. Like @boiler mentioned, it's not quite ready to be used by everyone. I am still working on clearing out bugs, particularly with regard to parsing.
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
I think a stickied thread does sound like a good compromise for now.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Agree with the stickied thread too, particularly as others think this is best and it will still help maintain awareness of the project.
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Thanks, I really appreciate the support. I know this project is mostly academic in nature at this point. Others have wondered what exactly the purpose is. I have a few ideas, but for now it's still a work in progress. Thanks for sticking with me since 2020, I plan to go at least until the Windows version is as reasonably bug free as possible.
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Think the Keysharp project has made very significant progress and is a useful (and needed) addition to the AHK family. Don't think it has to be perfect, but usable enough to perform tasks that users need to get accomplished, because such things will always be a work in progress to a certain extent. Just like AHK_L and AHK_H are too.
The Keysharp project deserves attention, and can definitely see it making its way to the Linux and macOS at some point, as it progresses.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
I am preparing for another release after fixing a large number of serious bugs. Where should I announce that, now that we have this?
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Make sense, now's as good a time...
Hmmm not sure, maybe AHK General discussion. Looks like we don't have the exact section for. Put it there for now, I can pin it. We can then move it where appropriate later on.
Please let me know when it is posted so that I can make it a sticky.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Thanks @joedf , I've posted this:
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=125220&p=556408#p556408
Let me know if that's good. If so, would you prefer I put all future announcements there?
Would you also want users to post all of their feedback/questions/bug reports there too? (If they are submitting a lot of bugs, then they should use the project page on Bitbucket.)

I think this is good for now
Yes, that shall be the place for its discussion for now, and as you say more complex bugs / discussions shall move to the bitbucket page where it would have better context.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Thanks for the sticky.
I'm going to step off the project for about a month or so to catch up on things. This new version should keep people busy in the mean time. Hopefully they'll give some feedback.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
@joedf, what would be a good place to post Keysharp scripts? This doesn't quite seem like the proper thread. Thanks!

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
I suggest posting them in the existing KeySharp thread or in a new thread in the C# sub-forum.
Re: New subforum for Keysharp
@boiler, both of those sound good. Thanks. Any other thoughts, people?

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Oh yeah, I forgot we had the C# subforum

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
Per input I've received (thanks, by the way!) I've put some Keysharp scripts here in the C# subforum.

Re: New subforum for Keysharp
To have Keysharp related posts in the C# subforum looks problematic. 1) It is tucking away Keysharp and making it hard to find. 2) People who are specifically into C# (proper) may not want to see it there. 3) Seems to create confusion.
Possibly a good solution or compromise is to put Keysharp as a subforum of "Other Programming Languages". So there would be "C/C++", "C#", "ASM", and "KeySharp". This way if anybody creates posts related to Keysharp, they're all under the same subforum and easy to find, including that it doesn't create confusion in regards to the other languages.
