Owl Script *.owl

I actually like that (and not just because of my avatar. Well, maybe a little)
Owls are wise (atleast in folklore). Wise people make scripts to automate their job or a time consuming task. Think smart, not hard.

I thought about it and I was actually thinking the same thing. Owls a symbol of wisdom, and they look cool too!

Ofcourse, what would happen to the LLC and foundation in a rebrand?
And "Owl Foundation" kinda sounds like an animal activist thing

one might ask the same thing of doctors associates inc?
the company is the company and the company name does not necesarily need to match any brand name

I think AutoHotkey definitely needs rebranding. And needs it as soon as possible. I think in current situation AutoHotkey is loosing lots of potential users every day. The main resons:

1. When person new to AutoHotkey is searching info about it in the google, he finds lots of different AutoHotkey-s (Basic, net, _L, and upcoming v2). It is hard to understand which one is better to use. People feel confused at first time. That mess can distract potential users from AutoHotkey.
2. The war that was declared to AutoHotkey community by autohotkey.com owner. When someone puts Autohotkey 1.0.48.05, in main page of official website for download that is war, war with the community. If someone tries to run with that version modern AutoHotkey code, he will get bunch of errors. That will distract many newcomers.

I see only one solution from that situation: We need rebrand AutoHotkey as fast as possible. We need to end this mess with versions and official website. I love AutoHotkey (as a name of AutoHotkey) but I think that, to eliminate that mess the rebranded version should not include "AutoHotkey" in its name. I also think that we should not use "ahk" in rebranded version name. In that case rebranded version will have one official website and will not have version related mess. I think rebranding should start with release of AutoHotkey v2 or better from beta version. Why from beta? I think we need to start rebranding as fast as possible.

I think AutoHotkey2 _IS_ a rebranding in itself. It breaks compatibility, so old scripts are not guaranteed to work. Users will be forced to upgrade. You can use the *.ahk2 file extension. You can grab autohotkey2.com domain, which should probably be done for a mere $10

I too really like the idea of keeping "ahk" in the title. Sort of paying homage to its origins. I think that's important. However, the few I really like are:

AHKv2
AHK++
WASL (Does anyone else think this is a great one, but sounds weird when spoken (wassle)) lol.

Who's in charge of the Foundation funds? Isn't it a wise investment to grab this domain, even if later the name decides to change? Just in case
