Ever since Chris moved on to greener pastures, AutoHotkey (the software AND the forum) has become somewhat of a soap opera. Usually a boring story line with not much going on but on occasion, an exciting adventure with interesting characters and many plot twists. I can't wait to see what happens next!

This. I don't mind if the official domain is to become autohotkey.com again, however IMO the data/site should be the same as what currently is hosted on ahkscript.org. The old forum would of course be archived and accessible.
i was just talking about the domain. hard for me to believe that anyone would prefer this domain over the old one which has like 10+ years of history

AutoHotkey Foundation LLC

Operated by Charlie Simmons (tank) and Steve Gray

Mission:
  • Provide highly useful Open Source Software (OSS) free of charge at the Foundation owned domain.
  • Support the Software
  • Keep it Open Source
  • Not monetize the software or support site.
  • Have more than one person that can make changes to the site
  • Offer a web site to support the scripting software for windows
    • A support forum suitable to the sharing of knowledge for a scripting community.
    • Solicits content improvements from the community
    • Hosts documentation that is freely available
    • Protects the community from SPAM, violent, derogatory, or abusive content.
    • Transparently identifies Moderators and Site Administrators
    • Supports users of multiple prefered languages when the user base is large enough to support it and adequate moderators are available.
I thought a mission statement was necessary as a open commitment to the tenants of this foundation.

Chris Mallett the creator of AutoHotkey has been kept up to speed on this process. I wont speak for him but when I proposed this Foundation as an idea he said
Chris wrote: Having a real organization, especially a legal entity, would be quite an achievement. I’m glad you’ve done some preliminary research into it because it’s far beyond anything I have any knowledge of. My response to your proposal is that as long as I wouldn’t be responsible for the legal aspects or any other part of maintaining the organization (keeping it going), I wouldn’t mind having some kind of guiding/suggesting position just the way you described, with some emergency authority in case things ever departed radically from the original spirit of the project (such as moving toward commercialization or bundling third-party, disreputable software with AutoHotkey).
Filing to create AutoHotkey Foundation LLC was the first step. I still have to list managers and some sort of leadership structure. but the hard part is done. It seems fitting to give Lexikos at least equal power over this entity. Lexikos has said that he doesn't intend to have any power. At the very least this allows him to select a new web admin should i fall off the planet. I have a small farm, a full time job and a family. I never had time for this. I am going to continue working on site issues as I have time but I will be soliciting help. I may even enlist some college interns in support and development work. I have a laundry list of issues to work on that takes far longer to get to than I like. I do my best to prioritize and sometimes in hasty efforts mistakes are made. I recently overwrote some CSS by accident. Right now aside from myself TLM and soon JoeDF will have server access to hopefully pick up my substantial slack.

amongst other things the list includes but is not limited to:

fixing the PM buttons

setting the mobile theme for mobile devices.

there are a few lingering issues related to the spam countermeasures we implimented.

Implement a secure place to host user content.

For the sake of transparency I have posted the following document.

Certificate of Organization.pdf

You're not slow! You do so much stuff. You deserve little (and big) breaks when you wish. Real life first (imo) :)
