Wow, I give up scripting for a few years and all hell breaks loose.

Glad to see someone's still carrying the torch.

After installing AHK (via AHK.com) I tried to install SciTE4AutoHotKey and it made angry noises about using the old version of AHK. WTF I thought. It took me a while to find my way here.

Someone should tell the SciTE4AutoHotKey ppl to make the installer point here instead of AHK.com.

"SciTE4AutoHotKey ppl" = fincs :D
and He's an admin here.

Hopefully he'll see this.

Nice! That editor is THE BOSS.

Wikipedia entry about AHK only contains the line "The administration of the official site may have changed." But that was enough to tip me off that there was some shenanigans somewhere.

@poena_dare: Thank you for reporting the obsolete link, and for your comments :). The installer in the next version of S4AHK will have this slightly rewritten and expanded version of the warning message you saw:

(PS: the "over 5 years old" counter in big bold red letters is dynamic and uses A_Year).

No, it just happens to be the AHK version I have installed. This screen will only show up on systems which have AHK 1.0.48.05 or earlier.

I registered just to post this.

I guess I got the wrong version and the wrong site when I downloaded AHK. I downloaded version 1.0.48.05. There seemed no problem, until I went to install SciTE4AutoHotkey. Then it warned me that I had the wrong version and that I should proceed to downloaded it from the (linked) URL (last paragraph of the warning).

Problem is, that every time I clicked that link, I was sent to autohotkey.COM

I was very confused, since that's the page where I had downloaded from. It took me a while to find this site. I just wanted to alert fincs that there might be something wonky on that warning screen.

fincs,

I owe you an apology. To make my introduction by way of pointing to something negative is certainly not very polite.

Thanks for all the work you've done on SciTEAutoHotkey. It is certainly a wonderful tool, and I would not have gone looking for the new version had I not already used and enjoyed it in the past.

Appreciatively,

Joe

Eh whoops. No offence taken at all (in fact, it was the last thing on my mind). This was intended to be fixed but apparently I forgot to repreprocess the installer script. Thank you for reporting this. (Well, at least I mentioned ahkscript.org by name...)

LOL. Actually, by mentioning ahkscript.org, you gave me the hint I needed to find the right place.

Thank you for helping me hone my inter-web skillz!
;)
