Not sure if this belongs here, but I was trying to register an account with the user name 'Maj' and it said that it already existed, however when going through the Members list, there is no user currently in existence with this username. Is it possible to manually change my username to Maj, or to create a new account with this name and delete this one? (Couldn't post as guest so had to make an account)

@m4j It looks like the username is taken by an old unactivated account from 2016... I have sent an email to the user. If I get no response within 2 weeks, I'll transfer the username to you.

I found it a bit frustrating that it is impossible to post here without an activated account, considering the purpose of the topic.
Edit: In case anyone else has the same frustration and doesn't know what to do: I ended up asking help on the Discord server.

Yes, everyone can also email me, or use the contact page: memberlist.php?mode=contactadmin
but AHK Discord works too

@nastasiya09 It looks like you were able to post. This seems a bit weird to me.
Your account should work fine. If you're really having issues, then I'll try removing new user restrictions (they go away anyway one you reach a certain amount of approved posts).

Obviously, you are registered, your account is activated and you are able to post.
Perhaps you have some other problem or question? If that's the case, please elaborate!

After a closer look, I closed both accounts, ramisthand76 and nastasiya09, indefinitely (reason: spam, bait-n-wait). Looking at the spam links, they probably were connected

I wasnt having a go at you. It was a very unfair ban. However, you posting your Wikipedia username here had nothing to do with your being banned.

I tend to like to mention my ban a fair bit in here too. Its only natural really. Sometimes I even mention it when it probably isnt relevant.

I did, but I joined the AHK discord server & asked for help. T'was sorted in a few mins.
Wish I'd done that right away, instead of using the web form 2 times!
I, too, registered my new account with an email that uses a MS domain (hotmail.com).

I can delete the failed accounts and help change username, avatar or email if needed. Let me know.

All good, i changed email the acc'ts setup with too, JIC.
From problematic MS domain email addy, to gmail one.
And tweaked a bunch of other forum settings to my liking.
Unsubscribing from this thread...

How do you mean? Your account is obviously active.
Still you might have to wait for your posts getting approved, as long as you are a new user. There are certain restrictions for newcomers.
