ATTENTION!: For those having problems logging in

11 Oct 2015, 02:33

This morning I had problems when I tried to log in. Afterwards I deleted the cookies that were related to ahkscript.org. That fixed it.

I hope this is going to be fixed on the server side?
I mean not everyone will actually look for a thread like this.

Yes I made the cookie not domain specific in prep for making this forum available on autohotkey.com. I kind of consider deleting your cookies if something isn't working right in the category of basic computer/internet usage. Perhaps not :headwall:

Woo! I figured such a move was a no-brainer. I've been away a few days, busy with work and personal matters, but I'd like to jump hard into attempts at converting the old board over.

I'm a medium-level computer user, just a bit above novice. After a day of issues with login I looked for cookies in Chrome and discovered how very easy it was to find the ones related to this forum and delete them, which of course fixed it.

Now to find out if it's as easy to do that in Firefox.

I have Firefox set to delete all cookies every time I close it.

i had to delete cookies again now that we are automatically rewriting ahkscript.org -> authotkey.com

I don't see why that would be necessary.

I'm pretty sure any web browser would see them as two totally independent sites, and autohotkey.com would be autohotkey.com regardless of whether you were redirected from ahkscript.org. Since your ahkscript.org cookies are of no relevance at autohotkey.com, you would need to log in again unless you've already logged in at autohotkey.com. I had and did not need to delete any cookies.

If you only deleted the ahkscript.org cookie last time, maybe you still had a "bad cookie" for autohotkey.com.

I had to also delete cookies again

Did not see the redirect so deleted the ahkscript.org cookies - did not work ( doh )

Then I deleted the autohotkey.com ones - that worked

Note: I am sure i had a bad cookie from way back as i tried logging in to the mirrored board on .com when the cookie issue started back in the day... then just fixed it for the org domain but never did anything with the .com one til now!

I made the same experience. First, I deleted the ahkscript-cookies - to no avail. But then after deleting the autohotkey-cookies, it worked.

I guess, there will be more bad cookies that need to be fixed..

there is still an issue

both:
http://ahkscript.org/boards
http://www.ahkscript.org/boards

rewrite to:
http://autohotkey.com/boards

which works fine for me

however, if you go to
http://www.autohotkey.com

the link on the homepage then goes to:
http://www.autohotkey.com/boards

and i am no longer logged into the forums.
the www and non-www versions must use different cookies i guess

perhaps you should just make a decision to always rewrite to www or non-www, or otherwise allow the cookies to work for both
