kill explorer process, will it speed up while browsing or reading pdfs?

I have asus notebook with intel atom cpu n2600, 1.60 GHz, 1 gb ram, 32 bit os,

either it be win7 OR win8?

while browsing OR reading pdfs for long time, will killing explorer process will it speed up OR release some ram ?

thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

pls move it whereever it belongs.

Not by any noticeable amount, and the disadvantages far outweigh the negligible amount of resources it would free.

Just use an alternative to Adobe Reader if that's the one you're using. I use the more lightweight Sumatra personally.

SumatraPDF ftw!!!! Based on the really fast MuPDF with custom really efficient memory management.

I have no pdf reader installed.
I open it in my chrome browser (Drag'n'Drop) ^^
