I still don't like the title "Editors and other tools" as it's not defined what a tool is: Are the most scripts within "scripts and functions" no tools? Why is a library like gdip considered as a tool? In my eyes a library is not a tool - it's a library - it's a collection of functions and therefore should be kept within "scripts and functions" ... Why should PMC be located in Tools, whilst other Macro-Recorders (if there will be any) will be located in Scripts and functions (until the 25-pages threshold is reached)?

But for heavens sake - just do it ...

I agree 100% that gdip doesn't belong at all. Trying to pick my battles, but that seems pretty clear to me. That just really blurs the lines between what goes in this new forum and Scripts and Functions, and it seems that that blurred line will just make more effort for the moderators to move threads to the right forum as people post things in the wrong place.

I think it could still be called Editors and Tools if tools is defined well, but including gdip really muddies the definition right off the bat. I personally think it should just be called "AutoHotkey Editors", but I was okay with Tools because that's what I consider Pulover's Macro Creator. It's not really an editor, but belongs in this forum. I can't think of another tool that belongs at the moment.

For now I have created the sections and assigned maestrith and Pulover as Moderators for their respective SubForum.
Nothing is final though.

not a fan of the subforums, but whatever. i'd rather just see an "Editors" section and sticky the Scite/Studio threads. i guess PMC is technically an AHK editor so that would make sense. and probably AutoGUI too. so i could see how those could also be stickies.

I think the number of threads in this forum overall won't necessitate subforums for these specific tools. Just having a separate forum for editors should suffice, and it will be easy to find the various topics for specific editors by the thread title. I think we'll find that to be the case after using them for a while, but I may be wrong. It's something that would be easy to collapse into the overall editors forum if that's the case.

I'm thinking about splitting the topics up into several smaller topics. For now it is only one big topic for each subforum but it will get more.

+ a general section for all other editor questions (vim / notepad / n++ / visual studio / sublime / ...)
