editing a post that quotes a user

10 Jan 2017, 22:35

If you edit a post that quotes a user,
do they get notified a second time?

Also, if a post does not contain a reference
to a user, but then you add one, in a subsequent edit,
does the user get notified?

The second one depends on whether you have subscribed a topic or not

I don't an edit "re-mentions" the user again. I think you would have to make a new post.
If you would like, you could test it out in our little forum "playground": https://autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=99
You can mention me, Or I mention to test it. ?

Im too lazy right now to login and log out multiple times :p

Here's a post. I'll then edit it to include a reference to your username, but that probably won't notify you.
What happened was that on one occasion I made a comment, and then subsequently decided it would have been good to 'tag' / 'bell' the user.

[EDIT: A further edit made to the post, the quote text left untouched.]
